This team has been so much fun to watch after the first two weeks. The night before, they win by bludgeoning the twins and using great pen work, today they win with phenomenal pitching and one situational hit to walk it off

This is a fun season for Yankees fans but if they don't finish it off with a championship, it won't be remembered so fondly. I remember worrying about this in 2018 with the Red Sox, worried they would blow it in the playoffs after dominating throughout the season. Fortunately, the Red Sox continued to dominate in the playoffs and in one series beat the crap out of the Yankees before moving on and winning a championship. Will the Yankees play at a high enough level to win a championship this season? I have my doubts--they are peaking at the wrong time.

They’ve been peaking for 59 games?

Carpenter reworked his swing, hit the piss out of the ball in AAA and Cashman noticed. He’s added a sudden jolt to this lineup. After being relegated to the fringes of the MLB, he’s absolutely loving his utility role on the best team in baseball

Really the biggest difference this year as opposed to the last few has been health. The few key injuries the Yanks did suffer were to the bullpen, where they have the most depth. Taillon/Sevy/Monty are all pitching well and that's not unusual given their history, they've just spent too much time on the IL in past seasons. Same with Judge/Stanton. Others have really elevated their game this season such as Trevino/Cortes/King, and you also have Gleyber/DJ having bounce back seasons. Plus the defense has been astronomically better across the board. All of that has added up to a historically great start, and hopefully the injury luck continues.

They stopped being a one dimensional club shut down by power pitching. Health has been huge for the offense and starters, but losing a top prospect and your best middle reliever for the season in May isnt necessarily a phenomenal start to a healthy year. They’re a versatile team now. They can beat you with big ball, small ball, speed, defense, pitching. I think Donaldson has brought a certain mentality to the club that has helped make the team grittier. Ultimately, I’m very happy with what I’ve seen.

And the 8-1 twins game was the only game out of 60 this year they were really out of early. That’s the mark of a good team. Get behind, claw back, hold the other teams offense, get and keep leads. They’ve been dynamite

2-0 to start a 13 game hell run vs the Rays, Jays and Astros. Pitching has held up. After this run they alternate bad and good teams for awhile before going to the Fens July 7. Will be interesting to see where the Sox are by then, especially if the Yanks make hay vs the Rays and Jays. Might be 1 and 2 in the division by then

When Chapman and JLo come back, wonder who they send down. I believe manny has options so I think he'll be the first to go when Chap comes back. Next I would release luetge but I think they drop Marriancino who has been pretty good. I think he could develop into a very lethal option.

Wonder whether NY will keep this pace till the end of the season. Injuries/slumps haven't come yet. we'll see.

They may end up with more wins than the 2018 Red Sox, but without a ring, I have to think Yankee fans will be greatly disappointed.

Hitters have slumped. Stanton, Donaldson, hicks,Gallo, even dj had a few weeks. Trevino couldn't hit at the start of the year. Rizzo was awful in May.

The Yankees could go 122-40, and their fans will still say the year is a disappointment unless they win the final game of the postseason.

But if they go 122-40 and eliminate the Red Sox in the playoffs -- but don't win the World Series -- those who still insist the season sucked will be lying.

A season being enjoyable vs being a success aren't the same. There have been many enjoyable seasons overall over the past decade where the final result was a failure. And every year the Yankees don't win a WS it's considered a failure. But as fans we should still enjoy the ride.

Uh-oh, bad loss for the Yankees. The wheels are starting to fall off.

It was fun while it lasted Yankees fans but as I said the Yankees were peaking at the wrong time.

No one is going to beat the Mets anyway. Degrom and Scherzer will carve up the Yankees lineup. Go Mets, the best team in NY!

Ho hum, just beating the bag out of the Jays again

You are what we used to call back in the neighborhood a "mush"

You jinxed them.

The pitching slump begins, today, too.
