Add feltman to the list of rough outings today,

He was pretty far down the totem pole before tonight.

He's still rather low. He's not seen as a SS anymore and really has the ceiling of a passable 2B. The guy he hit a HR off last night has a 11.34 ERA and a 2.16 WHIP.

Casas and Downs have identical .843 OPS going into today.

Downs has turned it around this season. Not a fan of the extra 9 k's that Downs has though. 1096 OPS for Downs this month.

I believe still has something like only 5 at bats vs pitchers younger than him and now he’s starting to show good progression at the level.

On a smaller scale, this is a perfect example of why you do not rush guys to the majors. You bring a guy up too soon, he can have all the talent in the world and struggle a lot.

You bring a guy up when he’s ready, not when the player at his position at the MLB level is struggling. In a perfect world those things align, but they often do not.

Exactly. I think the Sox know what they are doing on the farm.

Anyone know why Winckoski only went 2 innings? (1 H, 1 BB, 2 K, 0 ER)

Ort blew the game in the ninth. Sound familiar?

Refsnyder 2-3 w 2B. Sanchez 2-4.

Portland with the Shut out. Bello 6 IP, 3 H, 0ER, 1 BB, 5K. Maybe time to promote him to AAA. Granberg 2-4 with a tater. Hamilton 1-3 w 2 BBs.

Greenville lost, again. Rafaela 2-4. Yorke 1-4 w HR & BB, McDonough 1-2 w HR & 2BB.

Salem gave the Sox farm a split on the night as Bastardo got the start: he responded by going 5 hitless innings, but he walked 4. 1 ER & 7 Ks. Paulino went 3-4 w BB, Jordan 2-3 w HR & 2BB & Lopez with a dinger.

@alexspeier

Per source, Winckowski was only slated to go two innings today. Not an injury.

Winckowski was 94-96 mph. Sox just wanted to give him a shorter day as part of workload management - game reps to stay on a starter's schedule without too much volume.

But... WOO Manager Chad Tracy said:

"Just potential stuff that could happen up top (BOS) that they don't know yet... so we wanted to make sure bewteen Seabold, who threw yesterday and Winc that there's options available. I'll leave it at that. I don't know what'll happen, but those things happen sometimes. And we'll see where all that falls."

Thanks. Makes sense.

Castellaneous with his 2nd tater of the season.

Groome with no hitter through 3 innings.

Through 4, now. You did not jinx him, yet.

His ERA dropped to 4.26.

He had backslid a little this season after talking all offseason about his goal being reaching the bigs this year.

Yorke with his 4th tater of the season. Is he beginning to heat up?

He started off slow last year too. Must not like April.

Red Sox pitching prospect Noah Song has completed his flight training and has applied for a waiver to resume his baseball career, according to Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. It’s unclear when Song might be able to return to the mound if his waiver is approved.

Red Sox executive Ben Crockett told Speier that the club believes Song has participated in “some level” of baseball activity during his aviation training.
