Carlos Correa is the closest thing to a young Arod we may ever see without PED

Why do you keep missing the most IMPORTANT part of the picture, which is a bad elbow? That should be a big concern for everyone.

We'll let you do all the worrying for us.

Worry about Sale, now Taylor, Bogey's hand, Story's elbow, JD's age regression, Vaz's overuse, and on and on...

It's a concern, but lesser if they are putting him at 2b.

Yes, but all of those were not just signed to a $140M contract.

You are not concerned about the elbow, and playing SS?

I’m not going to worry to much about it, because I’m one of the few that is fine with Bogey being the SS at least for now.

2b/SS

2022: Story/Xander

2023: Story/FA

2024: Yorke/Mayer, Story at DH

Why not Story at SS in 2023? Much easier to get a 2b, and by then Jeter Downs might be back in the mix…

Sometimes it works better that way, but it was unintentional, and must have been a misclick.

As the TalkSox historian, the last time I saw this happen was when a user was running multiple accounts.

So moon, why are you running multiple accounts and fighting with yourself? Hmm?

It won't really be "fun," especially if we miss out on something great by a hair.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who watches a play and thinks, "most MLB players make that play." I've been on the game threads to know it bothers me less than many others, but that doesn't mean it goes unnoticed.

It was just brought up today on a TS about the relay throw Bogey made against the Yankees last year when I believe he threw out Judge at in plate in the one game playoff. Does Story make that same throw with his bad elbow? That throw was something great by a hair in a critical point in a big game.

There were three 95-plus mph throws on infield outs in 2020. Tatis had two of them (topped by a 97.3 mph laser on a ground out). Xander Bogaerts had the other (96.1 mph) as he fielded a ball at shortstop, ran across the bag at second base and then threw to first with all of his momentum going in the direction of the throw.

He's the best defensive SS in MLB!

Most of the opinions I’ve heard today on 2 different TS is that Bogey needs to be resigned, and is not as bad on D as so many make him out to be on here. Like I have mentioned before that the opinions on here a very small sample size of the opinions out there in the vast area of Red Sox Nation.

It's kind of obvious I guess that I have felt for a long time that Bogey is more than adequate as a shortstop. I hope that he remains a Red Sox for a long time. As important as I know the position of shortstop is, I hope that every baseball fan realizes the importance of having a solid second baseman. We all believe in strength up the middle. Story's desire to be a Red Sox and his willingness to play second base makes this call a very easy one for Cora to make. Is it the absolute best scenario that we could have, maybe not but do people honestly think that this combination is going to hurt us? I doubt that it does very much. I'm really looking forward to watching this combination work. I'm actually starting to get semi excited about baseball again.

I once saw Manny make a play, high five a fan and throw out a runner.

He was the best fielding OF'er of all time.

Yes, but could Story make that throw?

Cora said Atlanta coaching staff typically offers candid, sharp assessments in spring. He said their staff praised how Devers and Bogaerts look defensively.

BogErts does not have a ton of range, but he is very reliable on the balls he can get to. He’s never going to win a Gold Glove, but he isn’t paid what he gets paid because of his glove…

No idea, but Arroyo would dislocate his elbow high-giving the fan. That we should all agree on…

Agree, and most I’ve heard today is he should be resigned if they could get a 5-6 yrs, and kept under $30M per, which might not happen since he is a Boris guy. He is the team leader, and he does want to stay, so that should be in the Sox favor.
