I believe I was unfair complaining Cora waited too long to pull Davis. It now occurs to me he is thin in in the bullpen and was hoping not to have to use Robles tonight.

Moonslav is right that this has already been a good season.

Cora has had a lot of very tough decisions to make- many looking like lose-lose. Plus, he has had to look beyong just "today's game," but that pretty much changes, tomorrow.

Some clown was saying he hopes the fire Cora for not starting Sale, today, and started Houck, instead.

Cora is the number one reason we are where we are, right now. (Bloom is a close second.) The best player would be third.

Jared Walsh with a 3 run job!

Angels up 4-3 in the 8th against the M's.

A loss will eliminate the Mariners.

if the Red Sox win, they have the tie-breaker over the Yankees regardless of what the Yankee do. If the Yankees win and the Red Sox lose, the Red Sox play at Yankee stadium unless Toronto wins tomorrow which would result in a 1 game playoff for the second wild card. Do I have this right?

You have to just throw it down the middle there. Do not walk him.

That is one of those situations where a walk is identical to a home run. You're exactly right. Even if you tee it up, throw a strike. (That's one of the things I liked about Barnes before his unaccountable collapse--his claim that as a late reliever, walks and home runs were in his mind the same.)

Truth.

This team lost two games to a team that lost well over 100 games. Then they are about to lose another game against a horrible team. The Red Sox just aren't a very good team at all. They might squeak into the playoffs (though I doubt it) but its going to be a one and done.

Your wonderful supportive attitude hasn't changed over the years.

Can't say it's good to see you back on the game threads.

Forget how well Houck actually pitched last night on 3 days rest. The big reason is that both games, Sat and Sun, are important, so not starting Sale on Saturday costs nothing. Moreover, as you have explained in great detail, starting Sale on 4 days rest would have been unnecessarily dangerous.

Agree on Cora and Bloom, and right now my Sox MVP would be Eovaldi (WAR 4.7), not Bogey (4.8) or Kike (4.8) or Devers (3.0).

She's in a home, because she needs mental healthcare. She developed schizophrenia at age 16. She's 63, now.

I hope things work out for you.

Same thing happened--schizophrenia and going to a home--to my wife's mother around age 35 or so. Gut-wrenching.

Wishing you luck. Relationships do not just fall into place. I could have been divorced countless times but I decided to stay because of my children. We’ve worked things out and things are in a good place.. hopefully it stays that way.

Thanks man. We have had ups and downs but the relation is at its lowest I guess. I’m staying because I love my boy but not sure how long We can hold.

Oh I see. Taking notes, didn’t know what that means. Hopefully everything is oks.

Thanks man!

I was wondering the same.

Thanks.

We would get first pick in this scenario...

If there's a four-way tie for two wild cards -- that would require the Blue Jays and Mariners to win, and the Yankees and Red Sox to lose -- teams are given A, B, C and D designations. Club A hosts Club B and Club C hosts Club D, with the two winners advancing to the wild-card game. FiveThirtyEight gives this an 8% chance of happening. The order of selection goes Boston, Toronto, New York and Seattle, so Boston and Toronto would play home games, leaving the Yankees to choose between playing at Boston or at Toronto.

It is very gut-wrenching and sad. I'm sorry to hear about your wife's mom. 35 years old is about the oldest you can be to develop this horrific affliction.

My sister-in-law is a very smart and nice person. The things she has to go through are terrible. The medications change who she is.

We are her last surviving family members, so we are her "guardians," so to speak. We pay for her care, and she comes to live with us for one month, twice a year. It is heart-breaking to see her, but she seems to be a little better off, now than she was 5-10 years ago.
