Cora had two choices. Leave Houck in with Richards warming up after the 1st walk. Or bring Richards in. He chose neither and brings in a guy who's had control problems all year. This loss goes on Cora.

 

Meh. No one in this bullpen is a sure thing, not when Whitlock is on the IL. The WEEI guys pointed out that Hernandez has been effective since he came off the IL. I agree he choked, but so did Robles and so did Houck. If Ottavino or Richards had gone out there with the pressure that was palpable, they were likely to do just as poorly.

If the SOX were only destined to win one game in this series, I guess winning the 3rd game would be the best one to win. Based on these 1st two games, I have no trust in the offense, the pitching, or the manager. One good thing, Richards should be available tomorrow.

The 2021 squad is not a post season team. The pitching is not there and the hitting just hasn’t been consistent. Giving up a grand slam like this just made me turn the f***in thing off. Disgusting.
