Did anyone not see that coming? Barnes is over taxed and the big boys can usually get him anyway. Our starters give us pathetic innings. Scoring 8 should be more than enough and your starter should be able to give you 6. Our pitching is a joke. Death spiral continues. No funeral tomorrow. It’s an off day. I will be wearing black when we play Tampa.

 

What a crock. This is entirely on the bullpen with some of the blame falling on the catcher Plawecki.

 

And it wasn't just Barnes. All four of them--Taylor, Sawamura, Ottavino, and Barnes--stunk it up. Barnes relied way too much on that stupid fastball.

Agreed, at least Dalbec has the possibility of running into one. He probably wouldn’t, but it’s more likely than Gonzalez.

Blowing a 7-2 lead is gut wrenching. There have been a lot of terrible losses but this one might be the worst.

That was my thinking too. Dalbec at least had a chance of getting lucky and tying the game. Marwin is a basically a guaranteed out.

I noticed that too. I’m sorry, but regardless of amount of pitches you make a pitcher throw, a slow roller to 1B in the 9th inning is not a “Good AB” we need base runners lol.

100% agree. Bullpen was bad but let’s not act like Richards ever does them any favors. He was s*** again today and got lucky. He’s killed the team and bullpen all season.

Richards gave up 3 ER's in 5 innings and had to go thru the Jays lineup at least twice.

 

All four Sox relievers stunk, not just Barnes, and gave up 5 earned runs in 4 innings.

 

I don't like Richards at all and think everything about him, including his whiny demeanor, stinks. But this game was on the bullpen.
