I was at the game in Atlanta when Cora pulled him at 4 2/3 with the lead. I’d do it again tonight. You want a W? Learn to throw less balls.

Yeah, but being fair he pitched well all-in-all after 4, so he deserved one more batter there.

In the long run, I think he could be a better asset in the middle-bottom of the lineup. The sixth spot would be a fenomenal spot for him in my book.

Verdugo

Xander

Devers

JD

Shwarber

Kike

Duran

Renfroe

Vázquez

Thing is he is hot. Keep him there.

Verdugo leading off is scary, right now.

It's my hope Duran can win the lead off role by next year. That would set the rest of the line-up up nicely.

And to the other way. Speaks volumes of his power.

If you can hit to left field as a LH batter , Fenway becomes a more friendly home field. Wall ball a la Boggs

ERod has to do better than 99 pitches in 5 innings. That was the "old ERod" we thought had gotten past that, but I'll take it.

Sale, Eovaldi, ERod, Houck and one of the struggling 3 to step it up, and we're back in business.

99 pitches....5 innings......he should be done for the evening.

I do remember Cora getting on E Rod in 2019 about him not challenging the hitters

Cannot criticize the outcome tonight but Erod is a proven "nibbler" not a challenger. That's why he uses 99 pitches to get 5 innings and very glad it is a 2 hit shutout. The team needed that performance

All Renfro need to do was put the ball in play , but nice swing Hunter . If you had let the bat slip it would have been in the upper deck

Have to check it twice but I think Alex has a good career OBP and mostly in recent years. He also has speed and decent pop. Leadoff profile.

But Yeah right now as it is the Lup, it’s oks.

Yeah it is translated in a lot of doubles and with his velo, it’s even more friendly.

Runner on 2nd and 3rd with one out. Renfroe strikes out.

We're not very good.

The last pitch to Dalbec was way too close to just take, then bitch. swing the bat and foul it if necessary. Big break, 2 on 1 out and no one hits the ball anywhere vs a LH pitcher

Hunter and Kike were relatively inexpensive pickups by Bloom. Kike is making 14 million over 2 years and Hunter is on one year 3.1 million dollar contract.

Unfortunately, Bloom wasn't so lucky with Richards, who got a one year 10 million dollar contract. The only good thing about Richards' contract is that it's only for one year.

What about BPning every 5 day moving forward. Give 1-2 inning each to Pivetta Perez and Richards.

Hunter is team controlled for two more years via arbitration.

Maybe in the next 7 inning doubleheader game coming up to save the BP for the second game

.781 career OPS

.760 OPS in the 1 slot.

If he starts hitting again, fine, but prove it first.

Yeah, good idea.

Not enough roster slots to have 3 guys pitch 2 innings every 5 days.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. But, the fact remains that both Kike and Renfroe have been very good acquisitions at a bargain price(based on what's being paid to players nowadays.)

I think a great chunk of that OPS is since his OBP. Last year at leadoff he did great, didn’t he? I think he hasn’t leadoff this year at all, but not sure.

The one problem is that Kike enjoys batting leadoff and Dugo doesn't. Dugo has already made Cora aware that he doesn't want to bat lead-off.
