No chance we win a ring with what we have… everyone thinks Sale is coming back to save the rotation! We’re one long IL stint from falling into a 4 or 5 game slide and being a game back! Bloom did not do us any favors and those who say well we did get Kyle… we needed an arm and a guy to play 1B!!!

If our rotation goes to s*** all the fingers should be pointed at him. He will say the right things. I’m sick of watching Rodriguez nibble left and right and Richards needs to be DFA. Pivetta hasn’t been good as well.

Yup agree. The fact that we didn’t go after any pitching is beyond ridiculous lmao. If this staff thinks we can win it all with this rotation they are on crack. Even with Sale coming back it won’t happen. E Rod and Richards are nearly guarantee losses every time they play. Pivetta has also looked like s*** lately. Not ONE pitcher?!?!?!?! Really??? Wow

I think his lack of moves sends a bad signal to the team.

He didn’t want to part with prospects or take salary so his moves were not very impactful.

If Bloom took a dump in Fenway's center field , there would be some on here saying he is working hard to help fertilize. For a guy who has never won anything, he seems to be above criticism.

Denny, he's also getting blasted today.

@JMastrodonato

Barring any at-the-buzzer moves, the Red Sox are the only American League contender not to make multiple additions at the MLB trade deadline.

By my count:

Yankees: 3

Rays: 3

Jays: 2

White Sox: 3

Astros: 3

A's: 4

The SOX have one of the weakest farm systems in MLB. That could hinder trades.

I think these deals mean 2 things.

1. The Sox prospects are clearly not highly sought after compared to those on other teams

2. Adding to the bullpen probably means Houck and eventually Sale will be the additions to the rotation

When he didn't start against a LH last night, I figured he'd be either traded or optioned, if he has any options left.

He had been optioned multiple times this year. One option covers all demotions for a season. They’re really option years…

Three things about the Chavis trade.

1. He's one of Ben's guys and Ben believes in him. Not Bloom's guy so he was never going to get a chance.

2. Ben knows hitters and he is clueless about pitching.

3. Bloom seems to know pitching so maybe Davis will be helpful.

We don’t know if he wouldn’t part with prospects. Every pitcher he lost out on netted better ones than can be found anywhere in the Sox system.

Do you agree that his moves were not impactful?

After acquiring 2 top level relievers. the Astros are definitely the team to beat in the AL.

The grass is always greener I guess.

Rafael Montero has an ERA over 7 and a 1.64 WHIP, but he’s a “top level reliever”

Hansel Robles has an ERA of 4.91 and a WHIP of 1.39 and he’s a bum…

Yes, they were disappointing. I think the impact will be less than hoped for.

But Scherzer and Berrios went for players better than the Sox had to deal.

I think if anything, he went for the wrong targets. He shot for the moon when at best we only had the prospects to reach the clouds…

It’s crazy how the Yankees own them. They’re hoping they don’t get into the playoffs. Meanwhile we struggle against them.

Tampa, Toronto, and Yanks all made major acquisitions. I guess Bloom thinks that he has this in the bag.

Or he thinks our pitching will turn things around. They’re right now as a team pitching to a 4.13 era. He’s banking on sale to rescue this starting staff.

I disagree I think it directly impacts how the players feel about Chaim and ownerships view of them .No help means to them ownership doesn’t believe in the team .I expect we will either see a total Collapse or a team that puts up the middle finger To Chaim and goes on a run .We will know just what Chaim’s impact is by Sunday .I am happy with Kyle hell I called it seconds before on here but man this is a kick in the balls .

Problem is, only two clear SP upgrades were traded: Schzerzer and Berrios. The rest of the trade market SPs weren't any better than the E-Rod, Pivetta crowd. To acquire Scherzer, the Dodgers gave up two awesome prospects. To acquire Berrios, the Blue Jays gave up a couple of really good prospects including a guy who was drafted 5th last season.

What could the Red Sox have done? They were outbid for Scherzer and Berrios and the rest of the starters on the trade market were mediocre.

No what he thinks is we have played better than what we are and he told the team sorry guys but your just not worth it .Chaim in my opinion needs to be replaced this November .We need a GM that can build the farm but can also see when a team has a real shot at a World Series and makes the moves necessary.Chaim failed this team period .Kyle was on the DL and this was his big acquisition ? I’m embarrassed for our fans and ownership.Chaim Bloom when push came to shove failed this 2021 team .If this team wins it’s definitely not because Chaim helped them it’s despite his help

Sale and Houck.

Is this intelligent ??? Seems f***ing stupid to me .Sale would be nice to pitch what 5 inning games his first few starts right ? This seems like a GM way over his head .

I was referring to Graveman and Yimi Garcia.

Well to be fair I'd rather have Sale pitch 5 innings than Richard's. Our pen is our strength so they would hold on for the remaining 4 innings. Sale looks pretty darn good in his rehab starts

Imho, we had only prospects available to reach my 8 foot ceiling.
