Something wrong with Verdugo?

I would have liked to see all cylinders at full capacity in this series.

Just a guess, but with the lefty on the mound for the Astros, it’s a chance to give him a day off. Alex went 0-3 against this kid last week with 2 Ks and a groundout to 3rd.

I get the sentiment from you, but depending on how his swings looked last week, etc., Alex may or may not be the best bet. Cora has far more insight.

Good thing he is not injured.

Yeah in Cora we trust.

I get it, I really do. Plawecki and Perez want to create a masterpiece of painting the corners of the strike zone. At this rate, Perez will be good for maybe 4 innings.

The Astros have an impressive hitting line up, with an OPS of .795 or more all the way down to number 7 in their order.

By comparison by the time we get down to our 6th hitter , Marwin has an OPS .604 .

Gamethreads have become unreadable which is sad because this team deserves better

Got it.

Perez was just testing the waters in the 1st and was actually pretty masterful, giving up just the one run, which was actually a lucky hit.

And, boy, you just know the Sox are going to hammer Valdez. Why? Because he plays for the Astros and the Sox are the good guys in this game.

Go Sox! Win one for the gipper!

Wasn't necessarily talking about you, or anything posted tonight

Love that tactic by Perez: never, ever throw a first strike pitch because the batter might hit it. Very cerebral.

By wRC+ they lead the majors with 118.

Sox are at top 6.

Perez was due for a bad start. He's been pitching above his Peter Principle most of the season. And for that, I thank him.

Houston right now has all the answers for this team.

This game is all but over. Perez stinks, and Valdez looks like the same guy who shut the Sox down last time.

Perez needed a good start and he’s getting shelled.

Astro's W/L record is very deceiving. Probably by the ASB it won't be deceiving any longer.

They just lost a series. They’re not unbeatable but we have stunk thus far against them.

Ump gave up on that pitch at the top of the zone. You could literally see him turn away from the pitch giving up on it. Where did they get him from...little league?
