We just completed two sweeps in approximately 21 hours. Not bad. Now I really want to go to a game this week

Ottavino never makes it look easy, but hey, he didn't walk the first guy!

Yipee!

Nice game.

Too bad Pivetta misses out on getting the win, but maybe that will help light a fire for him the bear down as the game gets to the 5th and 6th inning- an area he has struggle in.

The pen went 4.1 allowing just one late run. 7 Ks along with Pivetta's 6 showed the dominance.

Arroyo looks like he may stick at leadoff.

How many times has that happened?

Good news today: we win despite giving up 12 hits, 5 walks and 1 tater!

Bad news today: dalbec is really struggling. Any chance we can swap him for franchy?

We passed the CWS for the second best AL record, tonight.

We're 1/2 game behind TBR and tied in the loss column.

Bring up Chavis.

The biggest question for Cora should have been answered —Arroyo has to play everyday and leadoff moving forward.

Exactly!

I hope he stays hot, so the question does not come up again.

Isn’t he hitting less than 200 at triple a?

.211

That's higher than Dalbec, and he has a .758 OPS in MLB during his short call-up (33 PAs).

Maybe Dalbec just needs some time to adjust his bat in minors without all the mlb exposure and pressure.

I agree. Bring up Chavis.

Agreed.

It's not like I think Chavis is going to rake, but Bobby Dee needs a change of scenery.

Dalbec is also no great shakes at 1B. He has the worst WAR, -1.1, on the team, and most of that is from his DWAR, -.9. Statistically, the next worst is Santana whose WAR is -.1 and OPS .530. However, he is versatile.

Santana sucks, but he is versatile. It reminds me of the old comedian joke, “the food wasn’t goo, but the portions were large.”

Yes, Dannny Santana is versatile. That means you can put him anywhere and watch him suck...

Why not Cordero?

5 straight makes the Sox the hottest team in MLB, which is pretty neat for early June.

I think these five wins also underscore the surprising depth of this Sox team. They are far from perfect, but the good plays/hits/pitches come through just in time to overcome the not so good plays/hits/pitches.

JDM missed 3 of the 5 games and had no rbi's in the other 2.

Chavis has been productive at the MLB level. Cordero bombed out and so has Santana. Give Chavis his shot. He should have had a roster spot on Day 1.

I like his defense, but agree you gotta hit to play. And he ain't.

See.

You agreed with me and were right.

Why not Cordero?

He needs to play to have any hope of getting his stroke. Who are you going to bench to allow that in Boston right now? It’s not going to be Verdugo or Renfroe. Kike is a far better OF than Cordero. And who plays first? Swap Cordero for Dalbec and you have Marwin or Santana at first every game, which doesn’t sound all that appetizing.
