The make-up game takes away a scheduled rest day.

5:10 start time, so don't miss it.

We can't look ahead to Astro payback. We need to beat the Marlins and keep the pressure on the Rays and Yanks and all the other contenders.

I'm gonna stick to my call for Arroyo to lead off, but it seems like he's getting big hits no matter where he is in the line-up or coming off the bench.

Pivetta is reaching the time where his sample size is getting too large to think this has all been some kind of fluke. A wing here would help prove it's no fluke.

Keep it rolling, guys!

J.D. Martinez (wrist) remains sidelined for Monday's game against the Marlins.

Martinez is dealing with a sore wrist and will miss his third straight game, though the good news is that X-rays were negative. As of now, the Red Sox aren't considering a stint on the injured list. Rafael Devers will serve as the DH on Monday while Marwin Gonzalez will play third.

#Marlins news: Pablo Lopez is back in Miami & will not start tonight's Red Sox game. He'll start Tuesday vs the Rockies. Told it's not injury related. Just giving Lopez an extra day between starts (which the team said it would do occasionally with starting pitchers this season)

Sounds good to me! Lopez has nice numbers.

Going against the dreaded TBD. That guy has kinda been overworked this year though.

Glad it's not Lopez vs Pivetta. I have both in our fantasy league. Now I can root for something other than a 1-0 win

Pablo Lopez was supposed to start for Miami, but the Marlins are giving him an extra day of rest. Zach Thompson, recently called up from Triple-A, will make his MLB debut with his start. The Marlins recalled Daniel Castano and optioned Lewis Brinson to Triple-A.

Thompson signed a minor-league deal with the Marlins in December after six seasons in the Chicago White Sox system. The 27-year-old righty served as a multi-inning reliever for Jacksonville early in the season, posting a 6.60 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in 15.0 IP. Thompson stands 6-foot-7, commands a low-90s cutter well, and also throws a four-seamer and curveball. He made seven appearances this spring for the Marlins and posted a 1.69 ERA over 5.1 IP, allowing just one run. He registered a save and struck out nine.

Recalling Castano might indicate a potential piggyback situation considering Thompson’s been exclusively a reliever since 2017. In Jacksonville, Thompson has surrendered four homers, which has inflated his ERA. He’s also picked up 21 strikeouts and allowed only two walks.

I hope Arroyo up first works out. I've been hoping for this for weeks.

Finally, Arroyo leading off.

He may not be the answer, but I hope he starts off strong, just so we don't try anyone else there for a while.

Well, I'm about to sign off on this thread, in hopes it keeps the mojo rising.

Keep it positive, if you dare.

GO SOX!

Pretty impressive, giving up 2 singles and then setting down the next three with an easy pop-up and 2 K's. Now the only issue would seem to be pitch count.

Geez the wrist injury must be worse than what they lead us to believe initially. He was available for pinch hit on Saturday.

He's slated to return tomorrow. Hurt his wrist sliding into 2nd on Friday.

MLB rules dictated this game start earlier than 7, but I'm a working man now. This is too early for me!

Yeah Arroyo has to take the job as leadoff moving forward.
