Baseball is a game of adjustments. I am all for giving dalbec some time to figure it out.

I think it is Martin, Santana and andriese that we may need to stick a fork in and declare burnt toast!

My autocorrect confuses Mr. Perez and Mr. Gonzalez a lot, too. But then, my autocorrect is clearly a Yankee fan…

@SoxProspects

Franchy Cordero tripled with one out in the bottom of the seventh, and then scored on a wild pitch to give

@WooSox

a walk-off 3-2 win. They split the doubleheader.

Franchy's k rate has been ugly lately though.

Are the Sox facing any pitchers who throw beach balls?

Maybe Hang’em Chaim can package Cordero, potts and andriese to some unsuspecting team for an 18 year old pitcher no one has ever heard of!

If he’s no good, sure!

I need an editor. (Also, 6 is Kindergarten most places)

Nope. 5 is kindergarten and 6 is 1st grade and 18 is 12th grade. How soon we forget.

Dalbec is 5th on the Sox in rbi's with the fewest at bats of any of the "regulars." He also, however, leads the Sox in K's, plus he's a lousy defensive firstbaseman.

When Duran moved up to the Sox, I figured he would go to CF and Hernandez to 1b and Dalbec to the bench. But that hasn't happened. So, even though I too am not a Dalbec fan, Cora and Bloom aren't willing to send him back to Worcester--yet. If they want him in Boston, so do I.

I think Dalbec will see the greatest decline in PAs since Duran’s arrival.

Give it time.

Not so much any more, max. No one wants their kid to be the youngest in the class, so parents are delaying starting school.

Actually, it's okay. What used to be taught in kindergarten is now done in preschool. They start kids reading in kindergarten now, which used to be started in 1st grade. Kids are all over the place maturitywise at that age.

Full disclosure, I have a September birthday. I was 5 for a couple weeks in 1st grade (i.e., I turned 6 about 2 weeks in), 16 when I started my senior year of high school, 17 when I started college. I was not unique in that regard. The cutoff in the Connecticut town I grew up in was December 31; I had a friend who didn't turn 6 in first grade until after Christmas.

Weirdest thing happened on the night before my 18th birthday. Somewhere around 9 at night, I got my finger slammed in a big heavy dorm door; I went to the infirmary and they sent me on to the emergency room for x-rays. Except the ER couldn't treat me, because I was technically still a minor. My parents were moving that weekend, so there was no way to contact them (this was waaaaay before cell phones). So the ER docs waited until midnight (so I technically had turned 18) and I could legally give consent.

My district and Houston ISD does not allow 6 year olds in kindergarten, unless they turn 6 there or were not in school at 5.

Same. My birthday is the week of Thanksgiving though. I remember a classmate who was a Xmas baby too.

When I went off to college, Richmond had a curfew for anyone less than 18. Theoretically, I couldn't be outside anytime after 8pm. (Yes, this was back when Richmond had a high murder rate and it was just another thing to try to keep people off the streets.)

Potts alone can get that…
