Perez gets help frrom Chavis to cut off another run. Perez uses 51 pitches to get 6 outs. Don't mistake him for anything more than what he is. A filler in a weak rotation. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over whetehr he gets re-signed or not.

I hope we resign him. As well as sign a decent free agent starter.

Perez is a run of the mill starter. Not worth more than he is making now. He has one good game and three bad ones.

With the state of their rotation, the Red Sox will likely exercise the $6.25 million option on Martin Perez for 2021 instead of paying the lefthander a $500,000 buyout.

Before tonight's meltdown, Perez had posted 0.5 fWAR, valued at $3.9 million, in 11 starts.

His bullpen audition went pretty sour. Somewhere between Robinson Leyer and Dylan Covey...

If Tapia didn't get banged up on that play, we may have never witnessed Lin pitching. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

IMO, picking up the Perez option is a no-brainer. Should not even be up for debate. And I say that knowing that his peripherals are not favorable.
