Hart gets stung by a jam shot bleeder of a soft hit, but Hart , at 27, should seriously consider a different line of work.

Great throw by JBJr to bail out Hart. No, the tag by Vaz was late despite the ball beating the runner by 5'. It just doesn't matter, if one guy makes an attempt at a winning play, another guy will f*** it up. Vaz has no excuse on that one

Bleeders hurt, but not as much as the walks that set it up.

If we thought that falling behind quickly was the problem, last night's game disabused that notion. I can only imagine the attitude of a fielder having to pay attention through 30 pitches behind a thrower who cannot get someone out.

Did Hart forget to warm up or what.

But he did learn the the Jon Lester chew the glove, left hander prepitch positioning. Warm up ? Long a RedSox pitching tendency--- to not be ready for the first inning

Hart vs. Arrieta

Hart enters with a 22.50 ERA and is already in trouble in the first.

Hey, look at the bright side. The ERA went down after the first inning to an even 21.00

Once Hart got to that 30th pitch level, he becomes unhittable, with 3 straight K's. This is nucking futs baseball

Using Lin in our lineup demonstrates our weakness.

Thank goodness you noticed that too. A nice person, I'm sure, but not a serious ballplayer.

Lin is a role player. He can be a utility infielder on a good team, but unfortunately the Sox have an overabundance of utility infielder types...

finally, a Red Sox bloop single to advance the inning. Now avoid the DP, JBJr. Don't roll over on the outside pitch

JBJr comes through with a sac fly at a good time. Hope he gets a nice contract after this short year but think it will be tough for him.

We have a lead for once. Weird.

We had a lead in last night's game. Our leads have an awful habit of being quickly obliterated.

He needs to roll to keep his position as a role player

The competition is numerous, but not fierce..

Let's keep it simple---f*** 2 way Lin

With all the problems this team has, you seem awfully dedicated to denouncing a utility infielder...

Well, he is having himself a game.

No worries, If Beni was playing it would be on him, possibly Chavis too. The real issue for me is that while errors of all sorts, physical and mental, will occur, all of these guys are paid professionals who need to bring their best game as often as possible. For marginal backups like Lin , either you show some advancement over a few years time or you need to be moved on. I cannot see much improvement in Lin.

The only reason professionals should be playing the game is to win and Lin is not likely to be making those type contributions today, tomorrow or next year.

Big deal. The season ended three weeks ago...

You say that, although there is still an alternate universe mathematical probability , however small, that the Sox could win 40 games this year . But they must DFA Lin in order for those chances to align properly.

Now I get to watch my other alternate universe guy, Matthew Barnes. Just having fun in a deadly bad season for Boston

There is also a chance within probability that I will get a four card draw to a straight flush while holding a winning Mega Millions ticket. But it might be a tad unlikely...
