Fatigue from heavy innings load + reduced spin rate.

As I have said before, don't give a flying f*** about ST. He might have been working on something. Absolutely nothing to glean from ST

SO Judge is down for the start of the season. We should know by the third week of March what the treatment plan will be. It is crazy how the medical staff transition lost two injuries from 2019. Judge said he initially injured the rib in September but played through it. If he has the rib removed, he will be out until June or July. If he improves with rest, we should see him around the same time as Stanton in early to mid April. Either way, the lineup looks like this

1. Lemahieu 2B

2. Andujar DH

3. Torres SS

4. Sanchez C

5. Voit 1B

6. Urshela 3B

7. Gardner CF

8. Frazier RF

9. Tauchman LF

Andujar is apparently working at being a LFer. If successful, he could shift to LF, Tauchman to RF and allow Frazier or Ford to DH

Well all of these injuries might not matter (excluding Severino) if the season doesn't start until May anyway. Tough break for guys like Frazier and Ford who would have had an opportunity to prove themselves.

This season isn't going to start until July or August. This disease is not going away any time soon
If they cancel the season, do the players get paid?

While we all hope that’s a pre-cursor to his performance this season (whenever it starts), but it’s not like Cole needs to be sharp to guarantee himself a roster spot. And he is well aware of this...

Cole is going to be sooooo awesome this year that he will go undefeated and not allow an earned run!

Small solace knowing the Yankees are liking at losing the best year of their big off season prize, and one year closer to his Coleridge Years...

And Stanton was immediately placed on the DL.

Can it be Thursday already?? Too bad that's the one day this week I have to go into the office, so I'll probably miss the first few innings.

Sucks that we have to open against Scherzer/Strasburg/Corbin but it should be a fun series. My guess is that we take the opener, lose against Strasburg in game 2, and the last game is a pitching duel between Montgomery and Corbin that goes into extra innings, Yanks score when Wade steals 3rd base and the throw from the catcher sails into the outfield. Nats then aren't even able to advance the runner from 2nd in the bottom of the 10th, Yanks win.

Domingo German is an interesting fellow, isn't he?

Well his first name is Sunday when translated into English, so what else would you expect?

Well I guess my prediction is already wrong - the Yanks will be using an opener for game 3 rather than Montgomery.

You were already wrong when you posted this: "Yanks win."

This post makes me wonder: If the Yankees were ever tanking, would John Sterling end broadcasts with "Theeeeeeee Yankees lose"?

This is the kind of stuff I think about late at night

Looks like Juan Soto will miss the series after testing positive with COVID today. The bad part about that is the test was administered on Tuesday morning, then he played a game against the O's and hung around his teammates for the next 36 hours. So it could be possible that he infected a number of players during that lag time between testing and results.
