Tough to tell. My first impression of Bloom is he let’s very little news escape from his camp. But then my impression of Preller and his crew is the only secrets they keep are the real medical reports. Any wild fire that spreads quickly as it destroys a large area is said to spread like a Padres’ trade rumor...

But then my impression of Preller and his crew is the only secrets they keep are the real medical reports. Any wild fire that spreads quickly as it destroys a large area is said to spread like a Padres’ trade rumor...

 

Bloom is definitely not going to rush into a deal. Maybe he wants to wait the Padres out since they are more desperate after almost a decade straight of losing seasons and signing Machado last offseason?

 

I just wonder if Preller is leaking all of this just to show ownership that "hey, at least I tried. I was wheeling and dealing all offseason."

You think all teams handle pitchers the exact same way? They all use the same signals, pitching progressions, exercise routines and use the same book on opposing batters?

 

Just the fact that most pitcher do way better with one catcher over the other is proof, there is more to pitching than just taking the mound every 5 days.

 

There are systems, routines and relationships to build with each catcher.

I’m thinking they have this done just working on Myers money .I think there’s a decent chance we hear something definitive this weekend .We don’t need Myers or other assets getting injured same goes for them with The Reds player .

I don't have any complaints at the moment.

 

I liked Ben too until he signed Pablo AND Hanley. If he had only signed one of them, he probably would have kept his job a little longer. He also needed to make a few more moves dealing a couple (not all) of prospects to improve BOS. He seemed very reluctant to move prospects.
