And in that short walk, how many homeless people accosted you?

As someone who lives in Maryland and sees the Sox play at Camden Yards at least once a year, it’s crazy how many homeless people there is. Baltimore is a true shithole.

Have you been to SF?

I have not. I’ve actually never been to California at all. I really want to visit though, especially a lot of the parks. I’ve heard about the ridiculous amount of homeless people though.

SF is really bad. Lots of aggressive panhandlers and downtown absolutely reeks. I loved living there and it's a cool place to visit, but it's a nightmare combination of tech bros and poverty.

IMO, LA > SF. I loved all the little beach towns surrounding LA. The overall vibe is really chill. If we could have afforded it, we'd still be living in El Segundo.

I’m not sure if San Francisco is like this, but I’m Baltimore all the homeless people are high as s*** on hardcore drugs, one time by Camden yards me and my friends witnessed two dudes shooting in heroin. A lot of people are afraid to even take kids to the games around here due to that s***. Baltimore has got to clean it up.

but the economy is so great. how can there possibly be so many homeless people???

They just picked the wrong stocks!

The area around whatever they call the Giants stadium now used to be really rough. I know there's been lots of gentrification, but it's still not a great neighborhood.

Downtown SF (including SOMA) just sucks.

You saw two people shooting up? And conclude from that that "all" homeless people are high? People use drugs--even people with houses, even people (scandalously enough) who post on the internet (not that anyone on this board does, of course)--and the problem is as bad in, say, Maine as it is in CA.

No, it’s not just two homeless people. Baltimore is literally filled with drug problems everywhere. They are consistently among the nations leader in murder and drug overdoses. Not to mention how corrupt the law enforcement in Baltimore is.

Wrong. It's just the same as Ogunquit and Kennebunkport!

As someone who used to live in Maryland and drive into Baltimore at least monthly shithole doesn't begin to describe the city. Friend of mine moved back into the city two years ago to a house a couple of blocks from the ballpark that he has owned since the 70s. After being mugged twice outside his home. He moved back to Hagerstown.

Ha ha! As you well know, Ogunquit and K'port ain't Maine!

I didn't want to trade him, either. But I think it was absolutely necessary...

They got something for him. That is good. The Pillar signing makes it palatable. I think that it certainly looked as though they were going to trade him but i certainly do not think that it was necessary.

I know right . And how in the hell can those s***** little seats in Fenway be filled every single day? Everybody goes. Maybe they aren't as expensive as they look after all.

Very sadly Maine seems to be becoming the next California.

Nor is Portland and much of the illustrious coastline up to Penobscot Bay.

Nor, alas, well beyond that as well.

The mugger was just trying to restock his farm ;)

Hey! Easy now. You're beginning to get too close to home!

As someone who lives in both of those wonderful states, I can assure you you are dead wrong.

As someone who was born raised and lived next to forever in Maine, I can tell you that unfortunately there absolutely are direct comparisons that can be made with respect to the s*** happening in the state of California and our own beautiful state of Maine.

I know right. Although very reluctantly I am away from Maine for a majority of the year, i will never give up my "old Maine card". I get laughed at down here for my language and independence by friends but I'm ok with it. If I could afford it, I would still be in Maine.
