Win this and we have a very weak Baltimore team coming up. If we can sweep them. We can make things somewhat interesting going into the series against Philly then getting that 10th inning against Kansas City and then playing an average San Diego team. The schedule definitely favors us coming up for the next 8 or 9 games.

Just got home and watched the game on DVR. Looks like the bullpen did it’s job today. With Eovaldi in the bullpen and Cashner being able to pitch one inning at a time, they might have something. Edited by Tedballgame

Evo starting to look damn comfortable out there! Like what I’m seeing from him.

Cashner looks good in the pen

Last two games he has. Hopefully he can keep it up. He certainly hasn’t look good as a starter.

Rays are playing San Diego today. Starting pitcher for San Diego is Cal Quantrill. Cal's father Paul gave up the home run to Big Papi that won 2004 ALCS Game 4.

We may make things interesting yet! Stranger things have happened.

If Eovaldi finishes well, and Sale does the same, at least it will tone down a little the diatribes about how bad their contracts are this offseason.

Paul came up thru the SOX organization.

At least they showed they haven't quit.

The farther away they have gotten from the trade deadline and Price's incoherent twitter blather spat, the better they have played. They were bound to come back to some state of normalcy the farther they got from those events. The problem is they still won't end up with enough wins to be anything more than a bloated payroll mid-pack team this year.

Nate is simply not somebody you can rely upon with that cranky wing of his. We can afford Sale as long as we don't heap mountains of other crap overpays on top of him. Time to go for DD as the chances that DD won't attempt to heap more crap contracts on are slim and none and I seriously doubt Henry wants to "monitor his Pres of Baseball Ops close enough to manage that.

When Henry starts talking money, you know the time has come. He made a comment the other day about not wanting to lose more money or something to that effect. A purge is coming. DD's head on a platter will start it

Rays lose.

Things are looking up. When is the last time a team was 9 games out of a playoff spot this late in the season and made it? If ever lol. Maybe the Sox can do the unthinkable.

Problem is they have to leapfrog 2 teams and Tampa is behind Oakland.

We're 7.5 games behind the Rays and 5.5 behind Oakland.

In 2011, the Rays were 8 games back of us on September 6 and overtook us!

No pressure baseball suits the Sox in 2019. When the pressure is off, the playoff chances faded away, the Sox relax and the pitchers hit their spots.
