Charlie Blackmon ? He's on the block .I would love to see Mookie Jackie and Charlie play together THREE center fielders .Charlie would be insurance if Mookie left .

Much like Blue Moon Beer, Charlie Blackmon is a product of Coors...

Yeah, but like Blue Moon, Charlie is a lot better than Coors Lite.

Edit... afterthought...

Q. What do Coors Lite and sex in a canoe have in common?

A. They're both f***in' near water.

And btw, you aren't looking at big ticket starters. Every big ticket starter on the market also has a reliever on their squad who is on the market. The sox aren't watching the aces, they are watching the closers

The rumores surrounding Madison Bumgarner are smoke. We would not trade for him nor would we or could we trade away JD Martinez. Someones fantasy. I agree, thatt if we went after anyone it would be a solid BP arm. Perhaps Will Smith is one of the leading targets if we do anything at all.

Unless we split or win the Yankee series, we could shift to sellers, so DD may wait to see the outcome of the Yankee series before making any moves.

I don't see the Sox being able to pick up any starters who would be worth a darn. They either don't have the pieces to get the trade done or they won't be able to stay under the next cap. So yes, I agree that the rumors surrounding Bumgarner are smoke.

Dombrowski might be waiting to see what happens in this Yankees series to make a move. We are only 2 games out of the wildcard right now. I really don't see the Yankees series making too much of a difference on whether to buy or sell.

I agree completely. It's only mid-July and a lot can happen in the next 2 months. Even if he makes NO moves we've still got one of the best offenses in baseball and a pitching staff that makes this team have the potential to not only make the playoffs but to make a real mark in the post-season.

The Yankees series could ABSOLUTELY determine if the sox go for it. The Yanks and Sox play through July 28th, ie 3 days before the now hard deadline for trades. If the sox rip through the Yanks rotation and sweep the series, then DD is gonna be adding to the club. If the Yanks sweep the sox and the A's take care of business vs the slumping Rangers, then DD could be on the phones looking to sell of rental parts with the sox down 6. If there is a status quo (sox and yanks split, rangers and a's split) then that is where DD is gonna have to make a big decision

As much as I have my doubts that it’s the smart move, I think the Sox will be buyers.

I think they will acquire Lance Lynn for Bobby Dalbec...

Lynn isn’t made for this rivalry. He’s also a near 5WAR pitcher already under reasonable control for another 2 years. You’re not getting him for Dalbec

So he’s both not good enough yet also too good?

Actually I plugged that trade into baseballtradevalues.com and it was accepted.

I think Lynn’s age and history have him as a “sell high” candidate...

They screwed the yanks and Houston you can feel a deal between Redsox and Mets either Diaz and wheeler or Noah .The Redsox want controllable arms so Diaz has to be what Dave is looking at .

No, what I am saying is if he is gonna be traded, he is gonna go for a big haul and Lynn isn't made for this rivalry. You need to look elsewhere

We have seen recently what this team can do when the starters and the offense are performing to potential. The talent is there. We don't need a big acquisition. We need the guys that we have to keep playing like we know they can.
