Dodgers have the best record and the best run differential in MLB, but they also have a losing record on the road. They have great pitching--2d best in MLB--but only Ryu is a true ace. I think Sale, Price, and ERod can compete with the others.

Congrats to all those who kept this winning streak going this long. Just what was needed after the public hanging in London.

Agree with those who say the wild card race in the AL will be tough.

LOL Auto correct?

I was reading that Miggy has been doing this quite often this year. Frustration seems to have set in.

Yep, damn the auto correct. It should have read as follows:

Miggy has been acting like a psycho this season. When he is not yucking it up as his team is getting plastered, he is unable to control his anger over balls and strikes. The guy seems unstable. To bad, because he was such a consistently excellent player for many years.

I caught the gist of what you were saying. The word 'uncle' just made me giggle. :)

Also, the All Star Break is too long. LOL

We agree there. I know Alonso won the HRD, but I haven't watched highlights and don't care to. I don't give a s*** about the ASG. Time to catch up on some shows and hang out with the Mrs. Or fire up the PS4

Ridiculously long, especially since the are starting the season in March and the WS can go to November. The scheduling of MLB games is another problem. I hate when they have 3-4 hour rain delays due to scheduling needs and economic considerations. It is so unfair to the fans. For any rain delay in excess of 2-3 hours or more they should have to give a refund.

I have nothing against Alonso, but it's kind of a shame that Vladdy Jr. hit 91 home runs and came in 2nd place.

I'll watch the ASG if I have nothing else going on, but it's not like I make plans to watch it like I do regular Sox games. It may be on in the background while I'm doing something else.

I agree with you on the long rain delays. I had this happen to me at a minor league game. It was a huge PITA to sit around about 3 hours waiting for the game. We were told that we couldn't get a refund or a ticket to another game unless this particular game was cancelled, so we waited.

Occasionally, a team will offer free hot dogs during those delays and very very rarely they will offer a free ticket to an upcoming game provided that you stay until the end. What other business would treat it's customers so shabbily. After a certain preset period of time, refunds or exchanges should be mandatory.

All true. Plus let's not forget that he has slipped badly almost from the day he started getting the big bucks. He actually had one good year, 2016, before the downward slide in 2017, 2018, and 2019. In those 4 years he was/is paid $28M, $28M, $30M, and $30M.

Perhaps. But I suspect MLB is in a bind with all those gigantic salaries and must therefore maintain the 162 game schedule intermixed with breaks demanded by the MLBPA, still the most potent union in America, and the postseason with three rounds of games, not including the wild card playoff. Thus they must play those rain delayed games and probably can't afford to give much back to the stalwart fans.

I'll be honest and say I think unions can do a lot of good for ordinary workers, but think the MLBPA, no doubt aligned with all those agents, have not helped MLB writ large.

That reminds me of an experience I had several years ago. I signed up for a bus trip from Maine to Fenway a couple of months prior to the game. On the afternoon of the game we left with the sun shining brightly but by the time we got to New Hampshire it was pouring. We got to our seats and at 7:10 the game was rescheduled for 1:00 the next day as part of a day/night DH.

We all got back on the bus, returned to Maine getting there at about midnight, then boarded the bus again at 7:00 am the next morning for the return trip. It was a long couple of days. The good news is that the Sox won :D

Good story. Even better demonstration of the great loyalty of the Sox fan base.

It is about the economics of the game and the fans do not factor into these decisions. In the long run, that attitude is stupid business.

I expect the Sox to win 2 out 3 against the Dodgers.

Their pitching on the road is not as good as ours. Maeda, Stripling, and Kershaw. E-Rod, Sale, Price. Sox should easily take 2 out of 3 minimum.

Will Splendid Splinter be making a thread or do we still not care about mojo?

Splinter doesn't miss many game threads. I'd put my money on him to show up.

Lol, I think the mojo is gone folks. YastrzemskI created the game thread and should have kept going with it and then Splinter took over. Has happened a bunch this year. If he isn't here to create game thread by 4 someone else do it.
