.242 vs LHPs isn't cutting it. It's not much better than his .236 career BA vs lefties.

For God's sake! JBJ is just .027 behind Beni after tonight's game! (.778 to .751)

It is much better than Mookie's BA vs LHPs and he's a right handed batter!

Benny is clearly a hot mess right now, but I wouldn't trade anybody.

Geez this season has been frustrating as hell but we are 2 games behind the WC and still a lot of baseball to be played.

Wonder what trading Cora would bring back in return?

:P

Maybe we could get Bobby Valentine to whip this team into shape.

It’s entirely possible that this team will make a run and then make the WC.. it’s possible that they will WIN the WC game... to only get ripped to shreds in the divisional series. This roster has too many things going in the wrong direction and I don’t see an internal fix. One night it’s the pen. If it’s not the pen, it’s the SP. Other nights it’s both. Factor in Beni, JDM and Mookie having down years and it’s just too much to overturn. Sale, Porcello, ERod & Price. Price is the only one who has shown a high level of consistency this year. People rave and cheer for Sale because he threw two perfect innings this season. Why should anybody care if he is throwing 30 pitches an inning vS the likes of the Blue Jays? Some of you are still trying to put this jigsaw puzzle together for 2019 because your heart tells you that it can be done. Listen to your mind instead. If this team does the right things this & next year, we can look forward to many post seasons and another WS in the near future. Sometimes tough and unpopular decisions need to be made.

Benintendi still has a significant upside. I wouldn't trade him unless the return was significant. I have trouble understanding how otherwise loyal Sox fans are so quick to turn on guys who are struggling. As a ( very ) long time Sox die hard , I don't currently have any particular favorite players or any particular scapegoats either . I root for them all , even when they leave Boston. ( I do make an exception for Steven Wright . I have a hard time pulling for him . ) Benintendi will be fine . Be patient.

That's temporary. Beni's has been a lifelong disease.

I pull for Beni and every Sox player, but I have my faves and less faves.

You pull for him while he's on the team, but you're quite willing to trade him.

I'm willing to trade anyone, if the return is greater.

I'd pull for the guy we get in return just as much.

Once Sox players are on other teams, for the most part, I lose all the love.

I don't get the pining away for ex-Sox players some seem to have.

JBJ has been my favorite Sox player since his start, but I'd trade him, if we got a better player.

and that’s the right attitude to have imo. JBJ is probably my favorite player on the squad but if the right opportunity arises.. the front of the jersey will always trump the back of it.

I think I feel more allegiance to 'homegrown' players like Benintendi and JBJ.

Anyway to send Benny to the phantom having nail DL and have him work things out in Pawtucket ?

...over a 2 game slump?

You don’t give up on elite hitting or pitching talent. You don’t give up on 24 year old potential superstars in AB (see Reddick)

You can add by subtracting players like Moreland Nunez Pierce where you have a viable option in Holt and Chavis

ERod is the chip I move before the knee gives out which could get you a yankee type haul when they acquired Torres

Problem is DD’s track record is trading prospects not trading for

He's sitting again today?

Yesw, and against a right hand pitcher. Something is going on, either an injury or the club senses he is getting deeper into a slump.

Moreland, Pearce & Nunez get us nothing in trade. We'd be lucky to trade any for a bag of balls, even if we pay 80% of their remaining contracts.

ERod just turned 26 and is entering peak prime. He's the last starter I'd trade. He's cheap, and we have budget issue, especially with paying our other starting pitchers half the budget.
