Porcello vs Chirinos. The Rays Devil pitcher serves as both a starter and reliever, something Kevin Cash dementedly created last year.

Sox look to win 5 straight.

Meadows didn't play the last time the Rays came here, he was injured. Sox are 3-2 against the Rays this year so far. Edited by OH FOY!

Yes, the early game thread starts are commendable.

Also, he needs to go watch a Seagal movie. Cue up “Sheep Impact”...

I still cannot believe the officiating in the hockey game last night. Talk about getting flat our robbed.

Can't watch what honestly looks to be a fckn rigged NHL Final. That aside.............

Bruins just need to play better than they did. The 2nd period was embarrassing.

Better to start it early than too late.

It's not that simple. Barb is scheduled to appear at a hearing discussing an illegal hit

that was not even called a penalty. Then the embarrassing no call on the tripping

that lead to goal #2 for the Blues. The ref was looking right at the play and missed

a player take out another players legs.. no call. The Bruins should have just left the

ice at that point. A complete embarrassment for the NHL. That's all.

What's great about tonight's game is that it's especially meaningful and we're only in early June. The Rays are playing great ball and are several games ahead of the Sox, but the Sox aren't out of it by any means even though we have some cause for concern.

The Patriots play 16 regular season games, and I'm sure all 16 are meaningful. But the Sox are barely 1/3 into the season and have played 62 games, just about all of which were meaningful.

Was definitely a blown call. I couldn't believe it..... But it happens to everyone. That handpass in game 3 against the Sharks was absolutely insane against the Blues. One of the worst things I have ever seen. That is just how sports is now days. The no call in the Saints/Rams final play conf game was also ridiculous. I have come to realize that a game can't be based on a blown call. The Bruins had their chances and Binnington shut them down hard. That is on Boston now the refs.

They really have their work cut out for them now. It would be nice not to discuss the officiating after virtually every game though.

Probably best he sits if he is having back problems..... Sucks it's against a division rival and we need this win but it is what it is. We have enough talent and Porcello is due for a good game after his last 2 starts.

We have a double header coming up, too, but does this mean he plays both games?

I don't know about that. When Gyzelcyk went down, the Bruins really were stuck with Chara and injured or not the Blues are literally looking for Chara. He is so slow that the Blues are actually able to throw the puck over to his side of the ice and have a forward take three strides before Chara takes one, go around him, beat him to the puck and get it off the boards before Chara can even reach him. Its that bad.

He was abused and made to look foolish behind Rask's net as well. Plus that long stick of his is no longer extended with the force we have seen in the past. The Blues are just pushing it aside...not a factor. The Blues know that even with Chara's experience they can literally look for him, push the play to his part of the ice and abuse him. You might as well have a telephone pole out there frozen into the ice. Really don't know what the Bruins can do unless Grzelcyk can come back and play.

Does not help that the Bruin's top line can't seem to get going on a consistent basis. But I don't think it matters. The Blues are standing the Bruins up at the Blue Line and Bruins have not been able to enter the Blues end of the ice on a consistent basis. Not clear to me how the Bruins take two games from the Blues the way the Bruins are playing and the way the Blues are playing. The Blues have had an excellent game plan for playing these Bruins. Chara is not going to get better and the Blues are just licking their chops waiting for him to come back on the ice.

Hmmmm good question.... Guess it will depend on how he feels and what the training staff think.

Maybe play one tomorrow and PH in the other if his back allows. Last time after the spasms, JD was not swinging the bat well. Effectively you have Nunez subbing for JDM. This is where Chavis's problems hitting are a real problem for the Sox.

BDR shows up in the first inning, helps prove White Men Can't Jump. Needs a big effort because the BP is on high alert (and missing Weber, LOL) with three game starts in less than 24 hours.

Two out...none on...Rafi tries to butt his way on from the 3 hole.

Don't think kid. It just hurts the team.
