I don't have the stats ready but chances are the Astros pitching may outrank Toronto's. At least our guys are showing they can pound inferior pitching pretty well.

Maybe more alarming than the dif between the Astros and Jays pitching, the Jays ARE NOT the worst team in MLB. A decade or maybe two ago, that would be hard to believe.

I had McDonald’s for breakfast. Paying a hefty price in the bathroom right now. But sounds like we haven’t blown the lead or anything so that’s good.

you know you have to have McD's again tomorrow, right?

True. Miami and Baltimore are the worst and plan on being the worst for a long time.

We need to pound these losers in this series and hopefully get payback on the weekend against the stros.

I can't guarantee that as much as I'd like to, but I can guarantee there will be no rainouts.

Having said that, I'm not counting Toronto out of the worst race.

Takes a certain combination to make it to the very bottom I think:

- lack of talent

- combined with lack of focus and concentration and compete level

- combined with a certain assholishness that just about guarantees that if there is a chance of winning a game, said team will blow it

The scary thought is that there are teams that actually manage to pull off that trifecta of awful. Plenty of teams throughout MLB history have lacked relative talent compared to the competition. Its items 2 and 3 in my list that have taken a decided turn for the worst IMO.

Ryan Brasier looking effective again with some good pitches. His 1-2-3 batters were hitting .091, .148 and .199. And no , he wasn't pitching a simulated BP against the RS bottom third of order

Told ya'....JBJ thinks that swing is the key to his comeback. Weight and power completely expended and off on his front foot, reaching for the pitch off the plate outside. "I have found my swing" says JBJ.

Sorta' puts the uppercut swing being responsible for all this power in 2nd place behind the rocket ship baseball.

Based on subsequent AB's by JBJr after his cherry popping HR, have no fear that it indicates a turnaround in his batting. Foul out and very weak kneed K.

LOL

he struck himself out that at bat.

Beni is PO'ed that Cora made him hit again, even after losing all that weight. Lowered his BA with a weak 1 for 5 in a blowout.

With Velasquez brought in to finish this game, I guess Cora is telling Brewer and Thornburg, don't sign any long term leases in Boston

I was wondering about that too.

But they each threw 35+ pitches Saturday night.

you can't hit a ball much harder than the balls Bogaerts and Devers hit

Bogaerts' shot was hammered. Devers' was fired from a frickin' cannon. That ball went directly from the bat to the stands without passing through any of the points of space in between!
