RHP Erik Swanson (1-3, 4.94) vs LHP Eduardo Rodriguez (3-2, 5.40)

Cora said it himself. This 8 game homestand is basically a restart on the season. We're back to even par, let's go get the clubhouse lead. It starts tonight. Looks like we're dodging most of the weather. Just need to get through 5 with a lead... Win. Dance. Repeat. x3

The is BS from Cora who took an Axe to the first month of the season by bringing an unprepared starting staff north to start the season. It is not a great thing for a manager to think that the season starts in the second week of May.

Much agreed. i know he's trying to put a positive spin on it, but he would be better served to admit the team wasn't physically or mentally ready for the first 20+ games. It took playing up to their abilities to get to .500 . That's not a restart, it was a salvage job. Now go out from here at .667 and he's a genius again.

Erod gets that ERA under 5 tonight.

book it.

Needs 3 innings of 0 run ball, 5 innings of 1 run ball, 6 2/3 of 2 run ball or CG 3 runs.

There's a chance!

You and A700hitter are so right. Now is the time or past time for Cora to publicly flagellate himself and say he should be fired for malfeasance.

Are you guys nuts? I'm perfectly willing to give Cora "credit" for a lousy ST which probably caused the 6-13 start and abysmal work by the rotation, but that's now water under the bridge.

As moonslav pointed out, the Sox have gone 13-6 since the 6-13 start and are just 5 games out and 3 1/2 back of the Yankees with 124 games to go.

So far this has been the Sox best lineup. It's almost the same one as opening day in Seattle, but with Chavis in for Nunez at 2B and of course ERod starting instead of Sale.

I'm not nuts. Just stating a fact. He made a terrible mistake in preparing the team for the season. It is obvious to everyone. He put the team in a hole. If the truth makes me nuts, I'm cuckoo.

Max, you are usually very much right about the Sox stuff, but you ,read both notes as a slam , without redemption, of Cora. In that you are wrong.

Well, s***. The night before I move out some of my stuff was brought home. The TV stayed, but the remote didn't. That sucks

Are you happy being a .500 club after 38 games? I am not. 700 is right: it was a mistake by Cora not to have his SPs prepared to start the season. They will be digging out of the hole that he put them in for a long time.

2 games from a playoff spot and yankees. Slow crap start but this team has really turned it around. We will win this series :)

Now.... I have to poop.

Funny how some things in baseball never change. Starter Swanson to Chavis: "Yea we know you must be able to hit FB's or you would not even be here at all. Lets see if you can hit my FB"

Probably would have had Chavis taking a Bugs Bunny swing at anything but a FB with 2 strikes....but no! Some things never change.

So much for an easy game out of E-rod. He is back to unable to put away hitters.

Well I missed the top of the 1st so whatever comment I make on Erod is ignorant of that inning. But his pitch count is not terrible and he hasn't given anything up yet. Hard to complain at this point I think.

Given an oppo field double by JBJr, Vazquez has just one job. Move him to third or score him. Vaz moves him up, so not bad

Now Beni must score him, not hard hit a fly ball, Beni

Whiffs, leaving Jackie at third. Beni can be an enigma sometimes
