The stories about the adjustments that Bradley made that would make him more consistent were a bunch of crap. He will always be horribly inconsistent. They could have sold very high on him after the season he hit 26 HRs in 2016. We could have gotten a nice haul for him that off season.

He'll be okay as he has a lot of talent. He could be better still if he would pull at least part of the time. Just just seems to have the opposite field swing as his #1 approach.

I recognize that he is actually a young, cheap, above average LF'er who will probably play for 10 plus years and get a big contract along the way . Good for him.. The issue of the power-pull swing vs the inside out fly to left field may be the problem of a medium strength LH hitter playing in Fenway Park where the RF seats are just out of reach but the Wall beckons. Tough to change your swing to adapt to each different park. I wish him well because he will be around the Sox for a few more years.

Very nice job by Walden.

Why not stretch Walden into a starter?

It's not like he's never done it. He started 15 games in 2017 and 5 last year.

Although i would rather watch JDM strike out than to watch JBJr hit a home run, that K-throw out at second of Betts makes me wonder if it's Halloween. What was Betts doing to be out by 15 feet, and JDM wave at a ball ?

JBJ seems to lose confidence and then can't do anything at the plate. He is hitting in the .140's. Maybe when he gets a little something going his cofidence comes back and its like a positive feedback for him. Trying to explain how he can be so awful at the plate for long periods and then out of the blue blossom for a month. I still think we need to consider a change there.

Last year, he was pretty consistent from mid May through October's playoffs.

I'm still holding out hope, but every time he seems to get a couple walks or a hit, I think, "maybe this is it," but he goes right back to futility.

You keep saying, "consider a change," but what options do we have?

Our budget is tight. We don't have many prospects we can spare in trade, and CF'er who can hit and field are not easy to acquire.

Our only real in-house option might have been Holt or Castillo, but both are really unavailable for various reasons. I don't want JD getting hurt by playing OF full time, either, and putting JD in the OF so Pearce can DH or Nunez can play 2B (Chavis DH) seems just as bad, if not worse.

Just caught up live...

Moreland with his 10th HR! They all seem to be with men on, too.

Good to see JD with a blast.

Velazquez is losing my confidence.

JBJ can't even foul off a pitch.

We may need more runs than 6 to win this one.

.

By the way, Moreland is leading the club in RBI's despite being a bit of a platoon player. Good for him. Don't expect a high BA but power is nice to have,

What the heck is Cora doing. This is the wrong park and maybe even the wrong year for this stuff. This game will be won on HR's. All the runs have been scored on HR's and all the runs very likely WILL be scored on HR's. I get it Alex. But pick your park the "official" ML baseball.

We have had three cheap HR's and two well struck.

- the X HR was hit off the end with one hand and still left to CF

- Moreland was trying to pull to RF, swung late and cue balled it over the LF wall

- the Alberto HR was almost an honest HR but more pile of trash than actual HR ball

JD's was an honest shot and the other Oriole HR was an honest shot.

JBJ declining visit to WH, he gets a lot of love from me.

Regardless of political opinions, the WH visit by sports winners is an odd "tradition" that is a loser in the current political climate. It was a photo opp only and a losing proposition.

Workman, imho, also has starter stuff.

As a relief pitcher you really have to give him a clean inning. It can take some time for him to get rolling. So it stands to reason that if he was stretched out, once he got rolling in a starting stint he might just have a few innings in him.

Elroy Face went 18-1 for the 1959 Pirates, all in relief.

Soup Campbell once went 17-5 in relief.

Dick Radazt went 16-9 in relief for the Sox in 1964.

The real answer is to evaluate the situation at the trade deadline and see if the team needs JBJr. Either keep him or trade him (for anything) at that point. He will try to be very expensive next yeareven if he is a sub .200 hitter in 2019. DD does not want to waste a QO on him if he can't get to .200.

We should know a lot more by the deadline. I, too, don't think anything will happen before then, unless JBJ is still at 1.47 by mid or the end of June.

If JBJ never snaps out of it, we may not even offer him an arb, especially if we are looking to reset the tax for 2020.

I will take that. Brasier got away with a pitch to Davis that he should have put out on Sausage and Pepper Sub row out there in RF. This could have been worse.
