See what I mean? If a hitter has to keep up with THAT for his paycheck, what do you think he is going to do?

This is the first time I can say with some confidence that we have a HP ump tonight who has no depth perception. The last time Strike 3 to Villar was a strike was about 15' out in front of HP.

Mitch Mortizland. He's really stepping up this year.

No, need to DFA him. BA around .220, OBP below .300. What's that ? 24 rbi's and 10 HR's. Give the man some love.

Benintendi could hit .407, with 75 HR's and 200 rbis and I still wouldn't think he was much more than a foul ball hitter. never have felt right about his talent over a long term

Some love to Vaz.

He’s now hitting .280/.810

Once Vaz went back to GENERALLY just going with the pitch and moved a couple inches back off the plate, he has pretty much been a monster at the plate for your modern day catcher.

Just caught up live...

Moreland with his 10th HR! They all seem to be with men on, too.

Good to see JD with a blast.

Velazquez is losing my confidence.

JBJ can't even foul off a pitch.

We may need more runs than 6 to win this one.

You are right. Notice not so much Leon catching. Cora playing the hot hand and good for Vaz

The trouble I notice with Beni is that he doesn't appear to know whether he wants to be a pull hitter or a spray hitter.

He'll be okay as he has a lot of talent. He could be better still if he would pull at least part of the time. Just just seems to have the opposite field swing as his #1 approach.

It wouldn't be as fun to watch, but (in terms of team success) I'd rather have a CF who went 1-3 and let that ball drop in front of him.

A lotta' the time he is a pull hitter for two strikes and a spray hitter for one. But I really do not like his pull swing. I just do not care how "pretty" Eck thinks it is. That thing is basically his pop up swing.

No doubt; JBJ can catch with the best and hit with the worst.

Maybe someone should start a thread or two on this subject!

JBJ seems to lose confidence and then can't do anything at the plate. He is hitting in the .140's. Maybe when he gets a little something going his cofidence comes back and its like a positive feedback for him. Trying to explain how he can be so awful at the plate for long periods and then out of the blue blossom for a month. I still think we need to consider a change there.
