As if Kimbrel never gave up a HR to s***** hitter before.

My God I dont understand the hate for Brasier. Before the game started he had a 1.69 ERA and a .88 whip. And if it wasn't for Devers with his million errors he would have sealed the deal

Ya I will admitt, Braiser has been pretty rock solid for us till last night. Also I am not blaming the offense what so ever so don't take this the wrong way but they could have helped out a bit more than they did. Once the White Sox bullpen came in we were completely shut down the rest of the way..... Did we even have a hit? I honestly can't remember.

My mojo senses are tingling... Nothing like being sick mojo

My Steven Seagal movie marathon magic wore off..... I will switch to Van Damme and see if it helps.

Don't blame me. I got us a 8-3 record. only a .720 winning percentage. :cool::rolleyes:

You can be forgiven because you clearly suffered for the team...

I also have finals week mojo, but that's only temporary

Well, there was one hero last night for Boston sports; Tuuku Rask!

Go Bruins!

Some hero if you can't even be bothered to Google his name in order to spell it right

Tuukka. My bad. Glad you caught it. You're better than Devers. Btw, I'll be checking for errors in your future posts. Speaking of Devers, the best thing I can say about him as an infielder is that he'd make a good DH.

You will have to write finals till the Sox are back in a playoff spot. Sorry man, just the way it is.

Meh, I spell Xander Bogaert's name wrong all the time lol. Constantly type Bogarts or Boegarts..... That's what happens when you have silly names. My name is Tyler. Can't screw that one up if you tried...... Though one time someone wrote "Tylor" not even kidding.

Some people are anal about name spelling, Tyler.

Facebook is the worst! One time I made a comment on a movie trailer with Robert De Niro and I didn't put the space between De Niro..... Holy s***, I literally got ripped on by about 10 people. It was insane lol.

Cora needs to start replacing Devers late in games with a better glove. The guy is wrecking us with his glove.

I think Cora would be doing so if our bench wasn't so depleted right now. I'm not sure who the replacement would be.

If it wasn't for Devers' error , we would have lost by only one run . Much better result.

I was thinking the same thing..... Even if Devers didn't make that error I still think Braiser gives up that homer.

errors completely change the complexion of the game. pitch sequence will be completely different. stretch vs windup. defensive positioning. i would bet 99 out of 100 times we win last nights game if devers gets that 2nd out.

I agree.

All speculation at this point... I don't agree but doesn't matter. Both Devers and "our closer" sucked and lost it for us. But something definitely needs to happen with Devers I agree. His errors are costing us way too much.

Yonder Alonso has a .301 OBP, which means if Devers makes that play, there is a 70% chance the Sox won...

According to the Win Probability thing, the Red Sox chances of winning dropped from 89% to 79% after Devers' error.

Some of you are speculating on what you think might have happened if not for the error . . I am dealing with what , in fact , actually did happen . Big difference . Imagination vs reality .

This!

Exactly. Errors change games no doubt about that, but if one simple error is the reason why Brasier couldn't close the game, I don't want him as a closer then period.

That's actually a line from Dan Jenkins' classic football novel, Semi-Tough, that I've never forgotten: 'What could have happened, did happen.'

Anyway , for Slasher and Moonslav , I am calling B.S. on you both . In your haste to be disagreeable and / or scapegoat Devers , you make no sense . Pitch sequence would still be designed to get the hitter out . Brasier always pitches out of the stretch . No difference there . And no defensive alignment would have prevented Alonso ' s hit or Delmonico 's home run . B.S. all the way .

you dont believe in the mental aspect of baseball? especially pitching? or hitting?

are you more comfortable pitching with 2 outs and no one on?

are you a little bit let down after your teammate makes an error and instead its man on first, 1 out?

is bogie playing in a different spot for double play defense?

is vaz reluctant to call offspeed in the 9th with man on first? (burner)?

does braz change his 'routine' in between pitches with 1 on vs 0 on?

is a hitter more confident with a man on base?

is he hunting for a certain pitch based on analytics of what the pitcher will do with a man on base vs no one on?

call BS all you want. if you think the game ends up exactly the same way had Devers not committed the error there isnt really much more to debate...

i should have said 89 out of 100....actually, my contention is that it would be 99 / 100 if he makes the play (2 outs). i wonder what the win probability would have been after that 2nd out? probably closer to 99 then 0....

fyi...this is also "speculating". not reality!

i dont think OBP % correlates to runs scored tho?
