Swihart hit another dinger Saturday.

Good for him. I hope he has a chance to shine. The Sox team did not have a role for him. They are now winning so the decision to trade him did not hurt the team or Swihart.

I don't think the dislike of Swihart is anything personal. Some people are just hoping he fails in Arizona because it would justify their opinion. Some people think their opinion should always be correct .

I've always wanted Leon over Swihart at catcher, and wanted Swihart to be given chances at other positions, but he never showed much hope.

I'm glad we brought Leon back up, but I truly hope Swihart does well in AZ. People may say, "I told you so" to me, but my guess is he will never make it as a catcher in AZ, and even if he does well as a non catcher, I'll be happy for him. If he makes it as a catcher, I will be surprised and readily admit I was wrong. It won't upset me.

As opposed to those who think releasing him was a mistake and therefore point out every time he he works the count to three balls as proof of success?

Or maybe they could work out lame two person skits about how Swihart is “ruining the game” because they don’t like him...

Like most things, it goes both ways .

The sox haven't turned it around because of Leon. They have turned it around because their stars finally woke the hell up and started producing.

The Red Sox started turning it around at the same time that Leon joined the team.

Coincidence? I think not!

Now, If I wanted to be a smartass I'd ask if you have stats to back that up, but since I'm such a nice guy I won't do that. :D

Instead I'll say that if you're right then Sandy Leon is the most underpaid player on the team.

LOL Sandy Leon joined the team, the team started winning. What other stats do you need? :)

My comment was mostly tongue in cheek. The Sox were going to start playing much better and winning regardless of whether Leon joined the team or not. That said, I absolutely do think that Leon makes a fairly significant difference.

Sandy has made a huge difference in just how confident they attack a hitter .Trust is numero uno for pitcher and catcher .Maybe Sale thought Blakes beard and hair was way to nice for a catcher ?? Who cares ? If it works don't fix it .

Leon seems to be doing pretty good!

Sale is a great pitcher in his own right, but Leon makes him even better.

Where's the poster that kept bringing up Leon's 3 game CERA?

he'll be back the next time Sale throws a clunker.

Glad you posted the video, so all could see that Swihart still only has warning track power, and JBJr would have caught that one if the Red Sox go back to AZ again in the future.

MLBTR...

Shepherd, 26, has struggled through a brutal start to his 2019 campaign, pitching to a 10.01 ERA through 29 2/3 inning of Triple-A ball. He’s yielded a staggering 53 hits in that time, including 11 home runs, issued 16 walks and also been tagged for another 10 unearned runs.

Leon will likely be on paternity leave for about 3 days. If we lose the series against the Astros, I don't think there can be any other explanation than Leon's absence.

And congrats to him!
