Brandon Workman has below average stuff. He cannot locate and he does not have good control. He pitches like he is scared out there which is understandable because he knows he is throwing meatballs. How in the world can they bring him in when the game is close? It blows my mind. He should not see the field unless the Sox are up 20 or behind 20. He is living off one inning in Game 6 of the 2013 WS.

We should have a "Playoffs post-game forum" for these comments, because there's this and much more to discuss.

Kimbrel was the logical choice... you figure 2 walks, 2 strikeouts, 0 runs. And a score of 3-2 in the bottom of 9th or a fighter's chance. Also Kimbrel needs work. If he's used tonight, he might be off from too much rest.

Would Workman even be on the postseason roster if Wright was healthy.

I think Workman needs to be the new poster boy for why postseason stats don’t matter...

Exactly. His past post season stats were a very small sample size and pretty long ago. I doubt his poor showing will change anyone's minds though.

Workman certainly blew the game open last night, but he is pretty much as good as any of the other Sox other than Kimbrel.

We have seen Kelly, Barnes, etc all have innings like Workman had last night. Even Kimbrel has had some similar innings this year.

Workman's terrible inning just happened to be in a playoff game against a really good team.

Agreeing with fxkatt in thinking that I would have liked to have seen Kimbrel in the game instead of Workman last night possibly

keeping the game at 3-2 going into the bottom of the 9th.

IMO, the 8th inning was the inning to get something done, with the top of the order batting. They went down quickly in 1-2-3 fashion. Once that happened, I really didn't feel good about our chances of winning that game. :(

Tonight's a new night though!

Our hitters need to relax and not let average pitchers like Tanaka shut them down.

Tonight our hitters did some damage early, then went into Hybernation. We have to keep hitting against the astros and not let up on the gas pedal.

We need to team to develop a killer instance quickly!

Jesus, they scored 7 runs in 8 innings against the best pitching staff in baseball. Grab a clue.

You are worked up Bellhorn. I kind of like it though. With respect to Larry's comment - you know Larry by now. It is what he tries to do.

I would say that neither team is really piling on the hits. Good teams find ways to score runs. These two teams are good!

Right Larry. You always want a team to have that killer " instance ."
