Cora has understandably, esp at home with his two best pitchers, opted for defense.

Porcello keeps the ball on the ground, so I expect nothing may change in the next game, although he could easily opt for left hitting offense against SEV. Could go either way.

Plus minus. Tanaka is a guy who young players will have trouble with. Severino is a straight up gas man. He’s the kind of pitcher a kid would like, especially with a short porch

Holt's a young player? He's been the best hitter on the tema for at least the last 2 weeks---maybe 3!

He was talking about Devers being a young player.

???

How many games was Devers responsible for losing because he messed up a ground ball or made a bad throw? Probably none. How many games were positively affected with his bat? C'omon man!

This scares me as a Sox Fan, Sox against Severino has a .223 Career BA against him, but a .260 BA in Fenway, he must really be tough on us in NY. Holt is 1-15 against Severino. This year 0-8. Devers is 0-12, and 0-8 this year, against Severino. With that said, I still want Holt and Devers in tonight, call me crazy, but I want to see them play. Holt is a Grinder, and Devers can hit out anywhere in this Park. Edited by OH FOY!

Severino pitches to the configuration of Yankee Stadium when he is pitching in Yankee Stadium. Something our pitchers tend not to do...certainly not our LH starters. Price doesn't. Erod certainly didn't his last time out there. Erod/Vaz in Yankee Stadium was IMO the worst battery performance I have seen in a long time.

Sale of late is throwing a backdoor Slider to RH hitters more than he is throwing a back foot Slider to them. I am not real thrilled with that either. But Sale will be a Game 5 pitcher in Fenway.

How will Evo do there? I am not sure how that Cutter he is depending on lately will play in that park against their RH hitters. If he gets that pitch up at all it likely won't be pretty. Even between thigh and knee, it could be a problem. He really needs to keep his Slider at the knees or below.

Outside of a healthy Sale, Porcello has the best chance of succeeding in that park.

Neither Holt or Devers were the same hitters in September than they were in the earlier part of the season. I put Holt in the classic "Born Again" category.

That's true. I'm starting to think both should be in the lineup.

These announcers are praising Cora for the major lineup revamp, and starting Holt & Devers was a nice call, but Vaz was always going to catch Eovaldi & Porcello, and Moreland is hurt, so the Pearce call was forced.

Nice D tonight by Holt and Bogey.

Gotta like the momentum swing, but we need to be careful. We all just saw how quickly momentum can change. Let's keep the pressure on and end this thing in NY.

(Sale starting game 1 vs Houston, sounds nice.)

You think Eovaldi pitches this well with Swihart behind the plate?

Mmmm probably man, IDK.

Said that Vaz hit well today. He deserves next start.

It's not about hitting, and especially about how well you did the last game.

We start Leon with Sale and Price and Vaz with Porcello and Eovaldi. It's been close to 100% all year this way.

We are not going to change this just because it is the playoffs.

They can both go oh for 5 every game, and it's not changing.

We may PH during a game, but our starting catchers are cast in stone.

I am glad that you have expressed support for another player.

You should be forever thankful that such great baseball minds are here and so willing to tell you that you are wrong.

These same baseball minds wanted to get rid of Holt prior to the season so they clearly know more than you know.

"Enjoy" the "learning process" my friend!

Well, after the 2nd game of the series, I thought we should send all the meat to the grill in terms of hitting in order to shake up a bit the offense who was lost at plate — Cora sent Pearce, Holt and Devers, part of the pack I was suggesting. Probably sending SWI was too much LOL!.

Said that, yeah, not everything is hitting, but Swihart has shown he can catch at a very good level beyond who is pitching.

LOL! Heeeyyy how are you doing my friend? Are you going to PO games?

As I was just saying, I thought Swihart could shake up a bit the offense, who was down in game 2 and great part of game 1. Probably most of us were a bit concern entering to game 3 for this reason. Swihart has shown he can catch decently and hit in clutch moments.

Said that Vazquez did very well tonight, and probably will catch tomorrow as well.

Hopefully we keep rolling and end this tomo.

No. I shall sit in the comfort of my living room with the toilet 15 feet away and the fridge about 20 feet away and watch in 46 inch high def glory.

It doesn’t sound bad at all my friend. I bet you have the fridge full of beer, and some tequila & bourbon ready to enjoy our Sox winning the WS. :)

There were also people here suggesting for real that Devers not be on the playoff roster. That one I could not believe.

And someone suggested Holt not be on the team back in spring training.....oops, that was ME.

Holt has been incredibly hot for weeks. This game can be inexplicable.

The muscle he added in the offseason seems to have paid off big time down the stretch and last night.
