Well, the AL is set

Oak at NYY

Oak/NYY v BOS

Cle vs HOU

One interesting tidbit. If NYY and CLE advance to the ALCS, the Guardians will have home field despite being around 10 games worse in the standings while playing in a vastly inferior division. Ridiculous

I see a WS between SOX and MIL, but I would like it against the CUBS. In any case SOX of course wins.

I'd like to see a rematch of 2007, I think the 2018 Rockies are much tougher than the 2007 Rockies were, and it would be a much more entertaining series. I obviously want to see the Sox win, but I'm not as happy with sweeps as I am with 6 or 7 game series. It's just better baseball. 1991 is still the World Series that all others should be judged against.

NY beats Oakland

Boston 3-0 against NY

Houston 4-3 against Cleveland

Boston 4-0 against Houston

Boston 4-0 against "It matters not"

11-0 baby!

A Sox vs Rockies WS would be very entertaining. It could also be one of the coldest WS ever. Definitely better than game 1 last year in LA when it was 100 degrees.

For those who are interested, the NL will play two tiebreaker games tomorrow.

The Cubs will host the Brewers at 1:05. The Dodgers will host the Rockies at 4:09.

Both games will be on ESPN.

They need to change the playoff format. No way a 100 win team should face a 97 win team in a single elimination game.

I mean don't get me wrong I like the idea of the Yankee's possibly losing on Wednesday but I'm sure if the roles were reversed in the standings I'm sure no Red Sox fan would like this playoff format.

And I know this doesn't happen every year but I never liked this playoff format. I'd like it with 4 per side like they had before. If you want to add more team they need to play more than a 1 game playoff.

If they play a 3 game series, it would mean the teams without a play-in series would have to wait a week or more to play. That's not fair either.

We can't go to 8 teams per league, as more teams would make the playoffs than would sit.

It's either go to 4 teams per league or have a play-in game.

It may look like this is not fair to the Yanks with 100 wins, but think about all the times 95+ win teams didn't even make the playoffs, including the Sox in 1977 and 1978

I get all that. This probably won't happen again but it can. And look at the NL. The team who's tied with the best regular season records gets to play a 1 game playoff game as well. I honestly liked it with just the 1 wild card. I've never been a fan of this extra wild card.

Been awhile since I sat down and watched a game in its entirety that didn't involve the Red Sox. This game is awesome

I lived in Milwaukee from 1967 to 1971. We were two blocks from the old County Stadium. The Packers used to play a game there every year.

I became a Brewer fan when the Seattle Pilots moved there. I was a big Tommy Harper fan (hit 30-30 in his first year in MIL).

When Harper was traded to the Sox at about the same time we moved to Maine. I became a Sox fan.

I'd love to see MIL-BOS in the WS.

It would also be a good storyline if the Braves play the Brewers in the NLCS, you know, since they used to play there too.

If the Braves make it to the WS and play us, they should totally play a game at Nickerson Field, the BU soccer field that the Braves played on when they were in Boston

Or, the Sox -Braves as the Braves used to play in Boston.

I’ve never minded the Braves. Nice to see them have a good year after sucking the last few years. That entire conference is a strange one. No cut clear team to go to the World Series. Anyone can take it. I still think the Dodgers win it and go back to the World Series but I hope the Braves can.

Heads up for the stat heads. ESPN 2 is showing a statcast of the Cubs vs Rockies game. For those that haven’t seen one before it really is pretty cool. Plus the announcers are better (no scumbag a rod).

Thanks Slasher.

Thank god the Sunday night crew are not doing more games.

They are just awful.

Great, another year of that crap:

"ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” viewership may have been down in Alex Rodriguez’s rookie season, but the plan is to stick with the crew of A-Rod, Matt Vasgersian and Jessica Mendoza for next year."

Cubs were the best team in the NL for most of the season, finished tied for the best record in the NL, then don't even make the actual playoffs. The new wild card is cruel, but very entertaining.

They could change the rules to say all 3 division winners advance, but the two wild card teams are seeded by record.

This year, it would not have been a need for division winning, one game deciders. The 2018 playoffs would have looked like this:

AL

BOS(1) vs CLE(5) @ OAK(4) play-in winner

NYY(3) @ HOU(2)

NL

CHI (1) vs ATL (5) @ COL (4) play-in winner

LAD(3) @ MIL(2)

I had not seen a Statcast before. I was in heaven watching it. They flashed some wRC+ stats up there. Who does that??? LOL It was awesome!

Not to mention that I didn't have to listen to the ESPN Sunday crew.

Great Cubs and Rockies game 1-0 in the 7th. I didn't agree with taking Lester out after 6.

That was an awesome game. Very tense through most of the game. I would have been a basket case if the Red Sox were playing that game.

Congrats to the Rockies.
