Try to contain your excitement. :)

The downside of clinching so early. LOL

It might be a National League kind of weekend.

Go Sox!

You guys have all caught the flavor of these last weeks. Cora is experimenting all over the place and we knew the MFY were not going to catch us.

That said, its getting down to the wire and Sale still does not look like Sale. If I could recognize his motion as something I am used to seeing, I would be OK with it. But I can't recognize this and the results would seem to support being unable to recognize it.

I'm worried; Sale is topping out at around 92-93, he's not throwing very many fastballs and his command is not that good.

Hopefully the second inning shows a little more.

The variety and the skills of the Sox everyday players up and down the bench has been a joy to watch these last couple weeks. The pitching...not so much.

Sale is not extending toward home plate. That is of course Hembree disease. When I start putting Sale and Hembree in the same sentence, you know I am worried.

Last pitch of that inning a bit better. Would like to see it on a FB though.

I think he will be fine. Hopefully.

He will be fine.

He may be saving it, but it would be nice to see an occasional 97 mph FB. Just to know he has it. If he is hurt we are toast.

Sale doesn't show the velocity or command that made him dominant. More work to do before the PO. Only 9 days or so before that. I hope the program will bring him along to close to his capability.

Why does Vazquez stand up before the high heat is thrown?

No idea, but it fools absolutely no one. He stands up so early that hitters know it's coming, and it is almost never a competitive pitch (just out of the zone). It's a ball from the moment it leaves the pitcher's hand, therefore it isn't even setting something else up.

Leon calls for those pitches, but he usually just lifts the target a little higher rather than standing up.

What I don't get it there is nothing sacred about using the glove as the target. A pitcher can throw to a knee or a shoulder or a whatever. All that's required is that the catcher knows that's where it's going.

Agreed especially this close to playoffs.

If Sale's history, as again proven this season, is that he is at his effective best 5 months out of a six month season, perhaps he should start pitching in May instead of April. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

So, who pitches against the Yanks besides Porcello? Does Eovaldi get one more? Or is Rick the last of the starting rotation to get a final fling?

Seeing that Travis doesn't have a future with the SOX, I wonder if the O's would have any interest in him?

What do the Orioles' have in return? He's not going to get you much.
