So, I'm the only one blaming Cora. I must have watched the wrong game.

I agree with you. JBJ should not have hit there. He's just the wrong guy to have up there with the game on the line. K's alot, too much swing and miss.ugh.

Bradley will strike out

It's sad the things we know that Cora doesn't. I wish I could say this was the 1st time, but I'd be lying. I used to give Farrell the nickname "in spite of." Cora's heading in that direction.

s***** f***ing game. Once again you saw why you can’t trust this pen. Matt Barnes pitches like a pussy. Afraid to throw strikes. From Barnes to Kelly to thornburg. They all suck.

Remember at one point they said Kelly was our secret weapon? What a f***ing joke that is now.

JBJ killed us today. Remember the base running early in the game? And now this although it was a decent AB.

But he gets a good jump on fly balls... AMAZING!!

JBJ also threw out a runner at home and saved a run... Mookie went 0-4, Beni 0-3, Hembree and Barnes each allowed a run in an inning of work, but yup, its all JBJ.

2nd note to Cora: As manager you're supposed to give your team the best chance of winning. Your day's off thing is strictly BS!

Exactly, Cora's style is BS. That's why the Sox lost this game, and also why they're lagging far behind every other MLB team in terms of wins.

Seriously, the Sox are not going to win every game they play. I understand being frustrated when they lose, but this sky-is-falling pen-is-crap starters-are-crap lineup-is-crap stuff every time they lose a game (which has not been that often this season, in case anyone hasn't noticed by now) is getting really old.

We--you--don't know jack about this team. At least, not compared to what Cora knows. As for Moreland hitting for JBJ: JBJ has hit better in July than Moreland; the Sox overall are 6 of 34 pinch hitting; we lost because the hitting overall last night was abysmal + the bullpen once again gave up a couple of key runs. It makes no sense--to me, anyway--to blame last night's loss on Cora.

Thanks Youk, for continuing to be a voice of reason.

Good post.

We're playing the AL central like how the Yankees play the Rays and Orioles this season. That has to improve. We still got about 4 series left with them.

Twins are actually in 2d place, 7 back of the Guardians. They are competitive. But I agree with your thought.

Thank you for this post.

Sometimes, you just have to tip your cap to the opposing pitcher. Gibson pitched a great game.

On a bright note, Johnson also pitched a very good game. And our pitching, on the whole, only gave up 2 runs. Going into any game, I think we'd all be thrilled if someone told us that our pitching would only allow 2 runs in the game.

Johnson has a 1.80 ERA as a Starter this season for the Sox, and are they moving him to BP? That's crazy. 5.10 era as a Reliever. Edited by OH FOY!

Thank you for this post as well.

Personally, I had no problem with Cora leaving JBJ in to hit there.

Actually, the only thing I said that was crap is Cora's very stupid rule that when he gives a player a day off, said player can't even pinch hit. Imho, that's crap.

I don't quite agree with all of Cora's ideas about giving players days off, in particular when he rests 3 starters in the same game, but on the whole, this philosophy seems to be working very well. I try to give him the benefit of the doubt. I suppose the true test will come in the playoffs, but having players healthy and rested will be important come October.

What's their record again?

Seam McAdam posted from 2014-2017 Moreland was 18-42, a .429 BA, best in baseball as a Pinch Hitter, with a minimum 40 at bats. To me stupid you always try to win. Plenty of time for rest. Edited by OH FOY!

Thank you. A much better response than "what's their record again?"
