What, no hope in another comeback?

Hard to come back with a weakened lineup in there. I know Bogaerts has a sprain and will be sidelined for a short while. I guess Mookie Betts felt a little off. Sometimes I wonder how decisions are made to give players rest. Not like the old days where players went out to play with some injuries. So we have a lineup with Beni, JDM and Moreland backed up by weak and weaker. Kind of cuts down on the run scoring potential.

ERod is throwing his typical game. Good stuff but a high pitch count per inning and a difficult putting people away. Lots of nibbling. He would be a better pitcher if he increase his pace and got ahead of most batters. Lin's error didn't help the situation but only accounted for 1 of the 6 Mariner's runs.

Red Sox clearly playing for the Wild Card. They better win that game.

Oh and I feel bad for all the people who went to tonights game. Some of those guys only make it to 1 red sox game a year and this is what they get, a lineup with a bunch of bench players.

Agree. The Redsox have turned into a boring inconsistent club .Houston ,NY , have much healthier and exciting teams .

They sport more consistency up and down their lineups. RS on the other hand are like a NL team but with 3 pitchers at the bottom of the order.

The Mariners may have started as many bench players (Andrew Romine, Chris Hermann, Ben Gamel/Guillermo Heredia) as the Red Sox (Brock Holt, Eduardo Nunez, Tzu-Wei Lin).

erod has 9 wins why not sell high on his overrated ass ???

Mabye because the 9 wins are an indication that he is solid and that tonight is an aberration rather than the norm? Maybe because the Sox don't slam their palms down on the "EJECT" button and purge all the atmosphere into the vacuum every time the smoke alarm goes off? Maybe because it's a bad idea? I'm just throwing out possibilities here.

Game over. Well, hopefully Mookie's in the lineup tomorrow.

Yeah the Sox will never come back from a deficit like this. I mean, when was the last time they did something that awesome in a game it looked like they were fated to lose? Oh wait, that's right, yesterday.

Good to know. Being a lifetime SOX fan I've always been interested in the plight of the Seattle Mariners.

Try this on for size. Teddy Ballgame had a lifetime OPS of 1.116.

How about this Babe Ruth OPS 1.164 and was 94-46 with a 2.28 ERA as a Pitcher. And 3-0 with a 0.87 era in World Series games.

Game's over. Yesterday's lineup had two of our best hitters. We have a handful of bench players in our lineup tonight.

That's not fair. Ted was never given a chance to pitch.

Your right haha

Incorrect. He pitched in 1 game in 1940, allowing 1 run on 3 hits over 2 innings. It was his only appearance on the mound.

At the Age of 38 Ted Williams hit a HR every 11.1 times at bat. Oh hit only .388 that year. haha Unreal stuff. Edited by OH FOY!
