Sweep up the O's here's a prediction O's get to 50 losses before Sox get to 50 wins.

Holt and Nunez 4 for 7 today with 1 K; Bradley/Leon 0-8, with 3 K's But it's a small sample.

Let's see Betts and Beni, throw in the new guy JDM for fun, and them match up Lynn, Yaz, Williams, Rice, Ortiz, Jensen, Petrocelli, Mo Vaughn, Runnels, and a few others like Fisk and Conigliaro. Yes, we have seen some great hitters. Betts and Beni can only hope they play as long as some of these gys.

And never forget the Great George Scott's tater farm.

Poor Cora trying to deal with the enigma that is JBJ. Cora says:

"I told Jackie after the game to stay right there. Don't change a thing."

Thats just it.....Jackie can't stay right anywhere for very long and simply does not have the means to correct enough to stay ahead of it. Swing does not look terrible right now. But they showed a HR from last year a few days ago and his swing right now is nowhere near where that swing was. Maybe he can go on one of his vaunted runs. Be a good time for one going west.

Oh my - you are talking my language. One of my favorite players was Pete Runnels. Jackie Jensen! Without googling his stats people here (most not all) have no idea how good he was. Reggie Smith - Mike Andrews - George Scott.

Expand on this please........ As a little kid I was a huge Boomer fan. Remember the exact moment my Dad told me he was was traded..... lets just say I didn't handle it well.

Where did NESN get the idea to put Speier in the booth? Dumb decision.

Was he wearing a pocket protector? Did he have tape on his glasses?

Still, I like him a whole lot more than that twa....... twit on Sunday night.

At least Speier is only on for half an inning. The ESPN twit does all 9 innings.

Bill Withers said it best regarding Holt. "Keep on using me until you use me up."

I think I may be the only person here that got your reference.

Pretty cool.

I think Cora was telling JBJr to stay in uniform (don't change a thing) and stay right there (don't move) because Cora was going to pick up a bucket of balls and conduct extra post game BP where Jackie would be required to bunt 100 consecutive balls fair down the 3B line. That's the only explanation for that advice.

Right. Stay right there until the trade is completed. Don't risk injury.

It appears the Nats have a 19 year old phenom named Soto. Just hit his second homer of the game that traveled 436 feet.

His first one was a cheapie. That 2nd one was a BOMB

His first was an opposite field miss-hit ball that just got out. He miss-hit it so badly that no one thought it had a chance to go out. The kid is just strong. For most guys that ball would have been a pop out to medium depth LF.

Further investigation on this Juan Soto revealed that he missed a good portion of 2017 because of injuries. He started 2018 in low A ball, moved to double A and now he's in the big show. Btw, the Yankems lost.

Soto is going to be a stud. I can't believe this guy is only 19.

I think that 1st HR by Soto demonstrated how strong this kid is more than his 2nd homer did.

Good game thread. Could not watch the game at office. Well done, Sale and Betts and JDM and others.

Agree Mariners will be tough. A split would be nice. Lineup healthy again, 5 good starters, good bullpen. Jet lag an issue maybe.
