So you didn’t like the guy playing with/through a couple of concussions. Amazing what healing up can do for a player.

Remember, though, Holt has a history of less than stellar 2nd half’s.

That plus his proneness to concussions -- we should DFA him.

His lifetime OPS is under .700. I happen to be prejudiced in favor of hitters. I do like his versatility and understand that's why he is on the roster, but I don't see him as a regular.

Note to JBJ: Pull the front of your jersey out as far as you can.

Yea...take one for the team...errrrrrr...maybe 40-50 for the team.

He’s not. He has a role and plays his role well but a regular he is not.

Where did NESN get the idea to put Speier in the booth? Dumb decision.

NESN has been groping for something for years and I just don't know what it is. Just give us a good broadcast. Keep the ******** to a minimum and the actual analysis to a maximum so that young fans actually learn the dif between a good play and a bad play and I would be happy with that.

Their recent penchant for ignoring some really bad Sox play is really ticking me off. Suggests the Sox and NESN PR think their future lies in convincing fans that these particular Sox players are just the greatest ballplayers of all time, simply incapable of error. That contention would simply be too easy to blow holes though. If anything I think they could enhance their future helping people, especially young people understand the real beauty of this game.

Sean McDonough pointed out SOX bad play and it got him fired.

I believe most of these home plate umps should go by the group name The Cataract Brigade.

I am sorry I did not pick up on the HP ump for today. Anybody know who this is? There was that ump last year that just postage stamped Sale right off the mound...literally in a game against Cleveland. Actually the guy postage stamped both starting pitchers right off the mound in a game that ended up I think double digit runs for both teams and bullpens just spent loads. I wanted that ump fired on the spot. Any idea who this guy is?

Not according to Sean:

To me, this has always been about money. Largely because I have been here much longer than Don, I am paid more money on a per game basis than Don. I think when the Red Sox offered me the Friday night package two years ago they were surprised that I accepted it, because they were well aware of the much more lucrative offer I had on the table from the Mets. With hindsight, perhaps they wanted me to leave then...

Some have speculated that my "candor" might have been a factor in this decision. I don't think that it was. This was not mentioned by anyone I spoke with as a reason for my termination, nor am I aware of anything that I said in the past few years that "ruffled any feathers."

OK...so that solves that mystery. The HP ump today is Brian Knight. The HP ump that day in Cleveland was one of the two Reynold's umpiring that year...maybe this year too. That day, nothing and I do mean nothing was a strike unless it was right down the middle of the plate. We are not talking about on or off the black here or at the knees or letters. He missed strikes everywhere. Both starters, Sale and Cleveland's starter were driven out of the game by the 4th inning and both bullpens were just raped. Probably changed the pens for both teams for a week after that game.

Bradley with the head jerk on the swinging K. Again.

Since he seems to have the attitude of I’ve always done it this way, maybe somebody needs to ask him “Do you remember the guys who got you out in high school and college? Those are the guys we signed”.
