Well, I hope we're all rested. Now, can we have a win or two at home against the weakest team in the East.

Imagine, having spent your money for tickets on these past two games.

Devers is very young and very talented. Swihart is neither.

He is very young....I haven't seen talent in either player yet. Neither is producing.

Problem is, we have too many young hitters trying to find their way all at once. Ideally, you'd have just one batting ninth.

That was the deal with the devil this organization made.

Betts was supposed to have played a minor league game tonight. Obviously, that didn't happen. His absence is definitely starting to catch up.

I posted earlier somewhere that I expect him back right after the ASB.

Devers is hitting under 230. That’s terrible! Bradley Jr is horrible as well. Our lineup is filled with players not getting the job done consistently.

D money ....here's the difference though ....JBJ is what he is an all glove player who can't hit .Devers is a baby deer finding there legs ....Swihart is a who the hell knows and most don't care at this point including myself .

The bad batters on the SOX have been bad most of the year. Moreland, who is not and never will be a .300 hitter, is starting to decline to his normal .260 average. I'm not dissing Moreland, but you are what you are.

God .....that's actually very fair ......I need a break from posting until both are producing later ...I'm banning myself because I'm the worst talent evaluator ever ....f*** goodbye

Moreland's always been a 6-7 hitter and also more than sometimes platooned on top of that.

Good thing Mookie and JD were injured because it could have been worse if they had played. How can I say that? They both played and batted on April 21 when Manaea threw that no-hitter.

Amazing how in a loss talksoxers rarely if ever give credit to the other team's pitcher. I thought the White Sox pitchers, especially Covey, looked pretty good tonight. And don't forget that error that put a Sox player in position to score. Tough to deal with that, but he did.

I do not disagree this was a disappointing loss, especially given the great job by Sale. Two straight is even more disappointing.

Very good point, so why not start a "bring Hanley back" thread? DD and especially Cora acted too quickly and let a good one get away. I love these game threads because they produce some really good insights.

JD isn't injured. This was his scheduled "Cora day of rest."

Your memories of Hanley are different than mine.

Without Mookie and JD, this team sucks. Most of that 5-9 can't even crack the Royals lineup as they actually looking for upsides.

Actually, even worse with Mookie and JD, or have you forgotten the April 21 no-hitter?

No. They're the same. I'm simply not prepared to condemn Moreland as quickly as you are.

This team is jekyll and hyde. Losing to this horrible team is a joke.i don’t give a s*** if it’s one game.

Jesus..... I just choked-out my wife's bichon frise I'm so angry after this loss. Stay sane brother.....

Really? I thought they took him out in the 8th last night because of back spasms. As for the day of rest thing, it's worked pretty well so far.

Funny that in hockey, which s a much more physical wearing game than baseball, one hardly ever sees a player get a day of rest.

Different kind of wear and tear. Hockey is not played every day all year and many times there are 3-4 days between games. There are maybre a dozen times a year they play back to back. They never play 3 straight (and if they do, there was a weather related postponement at some point).

If he can hit he is my starting catcher
When would be supplant Vasquez? He is so far behind Vasquez defensively. Do you really think he could win the starting catcher’s job next season? He will be 27 next season. He is not a young phenom. He has never shown any great promise at any level. I don’t see him wrestling away the starting catcher’s job from Vasquez next season. I just don’t see any long term role for this guy. He is just not all that great at anything. His hitting is not going to knock off anyone’s socks.

Sam Travis would have been better option than JBJ or Devers in the 7th.

Bradley was awful all night long making no contact. He should not have batted on the 7th. It was an automatic out.

I'm willing to bet that no team in MLB gives it's best players more days of rest than the SOX.

Bringing up Beeks to give him a start to give a day of rest to the rotation was the equivalent of forfeiting a game. It was a throw away against a garbage team. Why throw away a game that should be easy to win? Why not throw Beeks to the wolves in a game against a good team with a pitcher who we don’t hit well. If you are going to throw away a game, do it when the probability of winning is low.

Except for Sale- the one guy who seemingly needs it the most.

I totally agree.

The new MLB schedule has more days off built into the schedule. They could have waited for Pom to get back to think about throwing a 6th starter into the mix for one game.
