and climbing....

Yes, we've seen Beni hot & cold before, but I'm convinced that this becomes a breakout year for Beni.

Yep. He's still a dope on the basepaths, as I said earlier, but I stand by these numbers.

Close to .300+, .400 obp, .475+ slgl, circa .900 OPS

20 HR +/- 2

85+ rbi's

90+ runs scored

Breakout. Possible All-Star?

Those are very good numbers for a table setter. In addition, he has 8 stolen bases this year without getting caught which projects to close to 30 for the year. The kid is a nice piece of our offensive lineup.

Beni in may...

21 games, 85 ab's, 26 hits, 14 runs, 15 rbi's, 4 HR, 10 BB's, 3SB, .306 avg., .371 OBP, .529 SLG, .901 OPS

Smokin!

Would have won player of the week at least once, but for Beni & JDM

Add today's 3 for 4, 2 runs & 3 more rbi's, + 1hr

On pace to hit .295, .370 OBP, .480 SLG, .850 OPS. score 90 nuns, hit in 90+ rbi's, hit 15 - 20 (I think 20+) circa 25 - 30 sb

Hope so .The guys swing is incredible .There is no reason he shouldn't become what we all invisioned for him realistically. 290 average 28 HR 112 Rbi solid OBP. The glove is fine .

The greatest part of it is he is another piece of a strong lineup. Now with Handley gone we can plug in a better piece for him and DD can look for an improvement at our limited weak spots. The hope is Pedroia will adjust back to ML pitching quickly.

Try a .988 OPS in May now.

This is probably just one of those 'gotta compare him to somebody' deals, but I think Beni reminds me a little of Don Mattingly at the plate.

Truly astounding numbers for the kid. I knew he was something special when we drafted him, and I hardly follow our minor league system. Right now, though, it appears as if he's a fair weather hitter. As the weather goes, so does the bat. April was a bitch this year, yet somehow we survived and got through it.

Good one! I see that also.

Still rising. . , :)

Certainly is. Seventh HR and still in May. If he stays healthy, he could reach really nice numbers and is approaching a 300 BA. Great for the kid as we really need his bat. Mostly, fans here have agreed that he has a pretty swing and he continues to show that he is a top quality hitter.

I was a little worried Beni was going through a sophomore slump season, but he's looking better than ever.

While everyone is watching Betts and JD, we have a few other hitters capable of dominating.

Keep it going Beni!

if he was on the Yankees surely he would top out in the mid 1.100s

At the exact 1/3 year mark, & this kid is coming on STRONG!

Sure, he has a tendency toward hot & cool streaks, but I think the kid is as real as Mookie. Nobody comes close to Mookie's overall game, but with a bat, Bei is for real.

Yup. I don’t know though. He looks kind of like a goofball that smokes weed. Right???

You mean like Hanley & Pablo?

No dude. Beni is as legit as the other Killer B's.

Beni, Bradley jr., Betts, Bogie.....

All 4 are coming OUT this year for another WE!

No more distractions!!!

Calm down now. Nobody on THIS Red Sox WSC team is smokin any weed? WTF?

It is legal in Mass, CO, OR., .CA, NV, WA, TV, ME, AK

Why so uptight about It?

I'm still concerned about Beni vs LHPs. He's gotten his OPS up to .655 this yeat during his recent hot streak, but he's going to have be more consistent in that area.

He's at .600 career, but the sample size is still just over 210 PAs. He deserves more time, but he's gotta do better than .600 or .655.

He definitely doesn't look as good against lefties.

I was looking at that, but I don't like his stats against LHPing, so I did the only reasonable thing....

I ignored it.

Nobody should be judged on his first 213 PAs in MLb vs LHPs. He did well in the minors, so I'm hoping he picks it up vs lefties.

I'm just saying I'm concerned and it needs to be watched.

Dang, with Beni, Bogie, Betts, JDM, Mooreland, Pedey back, & now JBJ showing signs of life, this RS team could be unstoppable!

If we get Devers to settle down, and Vaz back toward last year's form, this lineup is truly awesome!

I don’t know. He just looks high. Probably not to you because he doesn’t have dreads and is a white? I got you bruh.

Not sure what your game is bruh, but whatever was done to Pablo & Hanley was done to themselves by them.

I have NO ISSUE WHATSOEVER with ganga. It's legal bruh.

But, both players went down the tube. Not because of me. I've had a couple good friends with dreads. I have plenty of friends who still smoke regularly. Most are very successful, but a couple just can't handle it. I was one who had to quit, but STILL LOVE the taste.

Not sure what the problem is? If I could do it without the high, I would smoke it dayly, rather than vape..

I'm not sure what you are upset about?

p.s.

Might i add that a little dope might help Beni out on the basepaths???? ;)

Relax bruh! It's all good :)

I think Beni will hit lefties OK as the sample gets longer.

He looks like a platoon guy now. I'd give him the rest of the year to figure it out.

I think there's a good chance that if they'll decide between JBJ and Beni in the offseason and grab a right handed platoon to use with the guy they keep (prob Beni).

B-R has an additional split which is kind of interesting. It shows the hitter's numbers for games started by a LH or RH pitcher. Meaning that it also includes any PA's against relievers of the other handedness in that game.

In games started by a lefty this year Beni has an OPS of .756 - not great but not horrible.

One could argue that this just means you don't bring him into those games unless there's an RH reliever. But it's not always such a simple matter to pinch hit as you please during a game.

I think he definitely has the tools to be able to hit LHP. I just don't know how patient the Sox can be after this year.
