Article on Ohtani says he has a terrific fastball, forkball (splitter), and slider and uses them in that order--that is, fastballs most often, etc. If memory serves, Uehara was a successful reliever for us with a slow fastball and a splitter, plus excellent control and fearlessness.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the splitter keep Roger Clemens going (along with PED's)? The idea behind the splitter is what makes it so nasty because it's supposed to look like a fastball until it nosedives.

Great game, but I can't watch a 10 PM eastern game.

 

I can't either.

 

The good thing for me is that I'm not in the Boston area and I don't have a Smart phone, so I'm not getting constant updates on anything. I can make it through the day tomorrow without hearing the score, come home from work, then watch the game.

 

OTOH, I'll probably wake up and check to the scores first thing in the morning because I'll be anxious to know if we won. LOL

I'm not expecting a great game from Price, and if he struggles, it won't change my expectations. What I'll be looking for is how he feels during and after the game, especially 1-3 days afterwards.
