Man Sandy Leon is one slow dude. I know he's a catcher but holy s***, Castro actually somehow made that close.

Not as slow as ... Bour was it?... trying to score from first and hitting the wall about half way between 3rd and home.

He reminds me of a weeble when he runs ...love the guy incredible teammate but Athlete ??? Yeah not so much ....Swihart is the best Athelete at that position and it's not close ...throws upper 90s pitching ...can play 3b RF LF catcher ...think we are wasting this guys talent big time .

Yeah. I guess every now and then I forget that the internet is as full of acid-witted badasses as it is.

I don't know why relief pitchers late in games try that so often with Hanley. But they do try that a lot and it often fails.

I just noticed you have three more with the Rays. Man, the schedulers front loaded a soft schedule (not insinuating anything intentional clearly). Coincidentally helps your team get their guys back. If Pom returns vs the Yanks, you should be able to align Sale, Price and Pom for the Yankees set

So, the Peavy trade is finally looking like it might pay dividends.

Thanks Lou - that was so long ago it had to be Lou Gorman right?

LOL.

I still maintain that once Ben/Larry botched the Lester initial offer and lack of a quick follow up, he did the right thing by dealing 4 of our 5 starters.

I did not like the Lester trade as it looked sideways with the loss coming to our pitching, but Cespy turned into Porcello who may not end up being a big step down from what Lester might have given us.

I loved the Miller (not a starter) for ERod trade as it made us younger and gave us 5 years for 2 months.

I liked the Peavy trade. Too bad Escobar flamed out.

The doubie trade (for Marco) was okay.

At the time, I was one of the few that liked the Lackey trade, and it wasn't because I was sure he'd pout or sit out a year. I liked Kelly and felt Craig was a good gamble. We needed a 1Bman and some offense, and Kelly offered us 4 years for 1.3 years of an aging Lackey. As it turned out, Lackey still had enough in his tank, but we wouldn't have won in 2015 with him on the staff.

All-in-all, I liked the strategy, but the execution was suspect and is still a little bit up in the air as these players play out their last years of their control (our team and theirs).

I'm not sure if Pom will be ready by then. We'll see.
