Yankees didn't even need giancarlo. Should have kept Castro and get pitching.

I mean for that price, you definitely take Stanton. He'll be fine lol, Its April.

I've said all along that Cashman made two big mistakes. The first, he traded away A.Miller for some so-so prospects (I'm not high on Frazier or Sheffield). Miller would have helped the Yankees last season and now this season. The second: replacing a quality manager in Joe Girardi with a guy who never even served as a bench coach.

The Guardians are pretty good at evaluating talent. They sold high on Frazier in particular. Sheffield has talent, but his ceiling is still that of a middle of the rotation starter and a lot of things have to go right to achieve that. More likely, Sheffield develops into a bottom of the rotation starter or bullpen piece. I would rather have a few seasons of dominance from Andrew Miller.

Stanton will be fine. That said, I am glad the Sox didn't get him. I didn't want him on the Yankees either, but I didn't want the 10 year deal.

What's great is that if the Yankees sweep the Red Sox, it's still not enough to take over 1st place.

The idea that Stanton is going to suck is stupid. He's got a mechanical problem and it is plain as day right now. His feet are pointed to right yet his body is going all pull. He has a lot of wasted movement which is making him late on everything. He needs to make a simple adjustment on where he meets the ball. That will happen tomorrow. If Boone wasn't a complete dolt, he would have rested Stanton and played Didi all game today and we would have won

Who will be fired first, Boone or Kapler?

Our talent will keep Boone employed for years. My hope is he learns the job on the job. Kapler doesn't have the talent, so any mistakes he makes will sink his team. He might not last the year

The Yankees have some folks waiting in the wings that will just about Square things ...I'm not a believer in Tanaka but I will always say CC is an amazing big game talent ...Sev has the best stuff on the Yankees.....Chapman won't scare many batters in 2018 waaaay to many guys throwing 100 plus ...lots of opportunities to learn from ...Boston is maybe an Andrew Miller away in the 8th innings ....it's going to be one hell of a year .

We just spit the bit in that series. Our starters are going to be strong all year. They just didn’t locate against a good sox lineup. We got shut down by Sale and Porcello was inducing ground balls and soft contact. Kudos to your team. We are good enough as currently constructed to beat the sox. The talent on the field right now isn’t playing well enough. They will. It is early. This week was unseasonably cold and wet, and it clearly impacted some pitchers more than others. When we meet again in NY, the weather will be warmer and both teams should be at full strength. By then Xander and Pedroia should be back. For us Hicks is already back and CC, Drury, Frazier, Ellsbury and Bird should return. It’s gonna be a wild one.

Also, Chapman’s dominance isn’t just in the velocity. Any big league hitter can hit 100. It’s his motion. The ball is hidden until the very end, making his 100 look like 110. As long as he’s staying out of the middle of the zone, he’s unhittable. He just doesn’t have the consistent command, especially against the Sox. Plus, the sox have been fouling off his pitches more often, forcing him to locate more. This is how you beat him. He’s the antithesis of Mariano. You could foul off a million pitches with Mo, but he was coming into the zone and he was locating. You had to beat him at his own game. Chap doesn’t have that location to be able to have long at bats. The good thing the Yanks are working with him on is the slider. Last year it was a throwaway pitch. This year, it’s actually good. If he can be a two pitch mix pitcher and see his heat at its usual velocity, he’ll be unhittable again

It's easy to overreact early in the season. Things can turn around quickly. What I'm surprised about with the Yankees is how many of the pitchers are off to bad starts.

Yanks have 5 games coming up against Detroit and Miami before a 21 game stretch where they play Toronto, LAA, Minny, Houston, Cleveland, and Boston again. Nothing this early can be considered a must win game or series but with such a tough string of games on the horizon, it would be nice for the Yanks to take at least 4 of these games against scrubby teams.

Good win last night, although Boone nearly blew it again. He’s doesn’t understand how to use Betances. When he’s off, you have to pull him quick and he’s either off when he can’t find the plate or when he cannot stay out of the middle of the zone. When he gave up the HR, I wouldn’t have pulled him, but the single, K, double was enough in my mind after that. You don’t allow him to give up 2 more runs and put the eventual winning run on base when he entered with a 5 run lead. Boone is clueless

It's not really on Tanaka. Granted, he wasn't on, but he got served by his defense today. Didi and Austin made big errors, but Andujar misplayed a ball, Sanchez screwed up on a routine pitch and catch and Walker misplayed a ball that would have cut a runner down at home (once again scored a hit). All in all, 2 errors on the books, but it should be 4 and 1 big passed ball. Tanaka has 6ER in 5IP, but if scored correctly, should be 2ER in 5IP

Marlins are terrible. Yankees just played one of the worst all around games I can ever remember seeing.

Red Sox look like the class of the AL at the moment. But the hater in me feels like they're just blowing their load early.
