If this team gets swept out of the playoffs again, I don't see Farrell keeping his job.

It will be an embarrassment among embarrassments that's for sure.

And even if he does win tomorrow, who have we got going in 3 and 4?

Fister. Then Sale?

They never seem ready, do they? From the get go mean. They never give me the impression they’re prepared.

They've now limped into the playoffs two years in a row now.

Meanwhile, what will it take to get an ace who doesn't wilt in the playoffs?

Do you have somebody in mind?

Farrell will be back. Teams that finish first usually do not fire their manager for it.

I can see C.C. Sabathia in a Red Sox uniform next year. He'd be a good back of the rotation guy for the right price.

I think he will be back with the yanks in a 1 year deal

Managers who get swept out of the playoffs twice in a row, with a team with this much money dumped into it don't last.

Hey-I thought he should have been fired for two years running. I just don't see it happening. His team won the ALE with a lot of guys underperforming and with Price gone for nearly the whole season. If I were the GM I would fire him as soon as the Sox get eliminated by the Astros. But its not going to happen.

Too many times people make the mistake of thinking you need a regular season ace to be a postseason ace. There are other pitchers who aren't paid like aces that consistently get it done in the playoffs. DD needs to find someone because no one on the roster is an accomplished postseason pitcher. You have to have proven playoff performers if you are a contending team with a high payroll. Edited by TheXandyManCan

I don't know how I feel about game 2. For some reason I think we can handle Keuchel, but if Pommy decides to give us a very nerve racking 6 innings and 2 runs, I might lose my mind

Not if our guys take two strikes on the plate before getting permission to swing. We scored two off a starting pitcher that wasn't that good like Sale.

Same old rask- giving up goals at the end of periods.

I am sick of the guy. It's time for pasta to take his game to another level.
