Yes. Sox-Astros ALCS. Cleveland is too hot right now. They're going to fizzle out like we did. Baseball is a game of ups and downs. I genuinely believe we will take them if we matchup in the ALDS. If it's Sox-Astros ALDS instead, that makes things a little harder, but I feel like we got it covered.

Then you simply aren't paying attention. Have you so soon forgotten the Guardians went to the WS last year, which means, unlike us, they are both and confident in the postseason. Right now the Guardians are better than the Astros, especially in the playoffs, because they have better pitching.

9 to 1 and the ump decides to start calling the low one. Yes it was a strike, but the ump is a joke...

Two more call third strikes with runners on. Why do our guys take so many with runners in scoring position?

Ok, bad night in black rock. What we all need now is for moonslav and Kimmi to get in here and reinflate our hopes for this season. Where are you guys?

I do not want to anger anyone, but I actually got something out of this game. It is absolutely the first time I have thought bad umpiring affected a game. I still think the Yankees win 3-1 or something because the Sox lineup once again stunk it up, so the jerk behind the plate did not give this game to the Yankees.. they deserve the win. But it grates because as I said after we scored, I thought I saw a faint pulse in the lineup.

Because we are lousy hitters. Or simply intimidated. Take your pick.

And even if we do fizzle out, who the hell cares? It's football season

For you, but not for me. Anyway, enjoy your football season. I did too when I was n college,

Just an awful series! Now they gotta hang on to this division. This whole bunch's inconsistent. Sale has not come through here and likely can kiss that cy young award goodbye.

If this team fizzles out like last year in the playoffs I just don't know how they bring Farrell back. These guys have to to start being consistent and win games! They where high expectations since all these acquisitions where made and they're flopping somewhat right now.

It's important to note that I was kidding. While I will be the first one to admit that I love football far more than baseball, the MLB postseason is set up so that it only minimally invades the NFL schedule, which is actually pretty easy to do, since games are basically only on one day a week. I have time set aside for both. October is my favorite time of year. Playoff baseball, height of college football season, NFL starts getting fun, the weather starts getting cold, and oh yeah, my birthday.

I see you did get something from this game...... you got hysterical on a message board. Nice job.

I'd say Price giving us nothing is huge, and it is, but it's not like we could count on him in the playoffs anyway.

Are you a pats fan?

Going into the series, all i wanted was a split. That would have buried the Yankees chances at the Division title and could have hurt them in the WC race. Hopes for a split was not overly ambitious, but no, we resuscitated the MFY's once again this season!!! f*** that!

Yup I would have been totally fine with a split. Absolute disaster. Offensively we sucked yet again. And I have no idea what is going on with Sale lately. Literally his last 3 out of 4 starts have been atrocious. Ugh this team!!!

Yup. 9-2. Clearly the umps' fault. Just as Cleveland's 11-1 win over Detroit was the result of the same umpire bias. Thank God the umpires and league conspired to let the RS win a few WS, just as they were completely responsible for the Cubs winning last year.

Sweet God! Now they've got Mendoza doing an interview with a Yankee while the Sox are at bat!

That unibrowed twat annoys me no end.

ESPN games are the worst. Especially when it's a Yankee or Cards game. All they do is bag lap those two teams.

Historically, Sale doesn't pitch well in Sept, and he's leading the majors in workload.

ESPN's bias is so obvious. When they start an in-game interview with Farrell the first question they ask is about the Yankee pitching, then later when they start an interview with Girardi the first question they ask is about Yankee pitching...again.

I've got a list of grievances against ESPN as long as your arm, not the least of which is this business of starting the game early because the Yankees "have a day game tomorrow". And they have to make that long trip to ... BALTIMORE! Who f***ing cares? I don't see them altering their tv schedule for any other team!

I swear to God... and I may have said this before, but I think the Yankee clubhouse has a blanket hung up there with a hole in it and they all wait for the ESPN people to show up after the game.

I love the smell of sexist pigs in the morning.

Spud doesn't discriminate against women - just announcers who bring nothing to the booth.

ESPN is truly pathetic.

Mendoza is way better than Boone though.

I see them as having different roles in the booth, trying to bring different perspectives.

Boone brings the game from the player's perspective. As much as I detest AB for that HR, I think he does a respectable job of filling that role. But keep in mind that he's a Yankee first and has the same bias against the Sox that we have against him.

Mendoza is supposed to bring the perspective of the "knowledgeable fan", a/k/a someone who's never played the game but has read a lot about it and tries to keep up to date on what's happening. I'll give to her that she's up to date but what she says often comes across as exactly that - up to date with what she's read but with no real substance.

Horrible series!!!! A chance to put them away. This team hasn't been able to distance themselves all season. These players need to start looking at themselves.

Sadly, rather than slamming the door on the Yankees when they had the chance the last 3 series, the Sox have opened the door and let them right back in. This series stunk, big time.
