A balanced game. Sox weren't hitting and Porcello wasn't pitching, so we did not waste a great pitching performance nor a good night at bat. 8-0 says it all.

 

But of course we will have those who say, "wrong. Farrell lost this one with that terrible lineup.

That comes back to coaching. No bad base running, but we had very few base runners.

Porcello allowed his 9th unearned run of the season tonight. I was curious, so I checked on something:

 

The Red Sox have been charged with 43 errors this season (including tonight and Bradley could have been charged with one on the triple). 17 of them have come in games pitched by Porcello. Now, I don't know if he's been on the mound for all of them, but that is absolutely ridiculous. He's not pitching well, but between the lack of offense and lack of defense in games he's pitched, no wonder they have a lousy record in his starts.

 

Which makes me wonder why Porcello causes this defense to make errors.......

It's funny. I have no opinion on it. I really hadn't give it a thought about having a translator come out to the mound. Something about it doesn't sit well with me, but I also don't give a crap. If I had to have an opinion on it I would after thinking about it a bit.

 

I've also lived in other countries where I didn't speak the language so I usually have a different take than most people on the subject about learning a language.

 

But for him to need to apologize..... this angers me........

 

I'm pretty freakin sure we all know Remy is good with every color on the planet.......... Remy just speaks baseball in the booth..........

That's amazing for a team that hits fewest homers. Nobody on the team is having a big year.

 

It's like the opposite of 2013.

 

Only Moreland, Bogey and Vaz are having up or improved years.

This team should be at the top of the division plain and simple! Not exceeding expectations thus far but i expect to win this division in the end though. If not then Farrell will be fired!

At least it wasn't a heart-breaking loss. And it did let Kimbrel rest.

S5Dewey is dead right. Kimbrel's primary value is to secure wins. I would have kept Barnes in for that third out, but I think I would have been wrong. Plus this was a Yankees game and right now we are chasing them, and this was a chance to win one in their park.

What I had I gave because what I saved I lost always worked pretty well for me. Within obvious reason, you do what you can do to win in the present.
