I think Farrell was the one who wanted retaliation, he's been talking about it nonstop the past few days. I don't know what the intent was by Machado, or Barnes, but you don't throw at a guys head, which it appeared Barnes was attempting to do.

I've heard Machado and Pedroia are friends, and they were talking after the HBP. I don't really know what that was about. This definitely wont end after today, regardless of how Pedroia and Machado feel

I agree with everything except the first sentence. If Barnes had hit MM in the head and put him out for even a few days then the person who hit MM is no better than MM.

Looked to me that Rodriguez was told to drill Machado , but didn't really want to do it. As for Barnes , I cannot condone throwing at a guy's head , if that indeed was his intention. Interesting that Pedroia did not back up Barnes or Farrell on the incident.

I guess it's water under the bridge... But I don't know. I'm very disappointed in him. Should have said nothing while on bench. Should have said no comment after game . Just leave before the media gets there. Didn't think it was cool.. That's all

He knows better. I don't like the hitting in the head stuff. I would have had Kelly or Abad nail him. Farrell ordered it. Barnes was uncomfortable doing it. Though he did it anyway. I remember back in the day that stuff stays in the clubhouse..

I agree. I'm a huge Pedey fan, but he was wrong in this instance. The team was covering his back. He should have responded in kind.

 

And under no circumstances should anyone be throwing at anyone else's head.

 

But at the same time, it was handled badly by Barnes, and I think that is what Pedroia's issue partially is. You don't under any circumstance throw at a guys head, especially with how hard Barnes throws. I don't like Machado but I don't want to see him seriously injured.
