Finally got to watch a game.

 

Velazquez was 'meh', although I think he was a good pick up for the team.

 

Barnes and Abad looked good. I think our pen is going to be a plus for the team.

 

It's early, but so far I'm pleased with what I'm reading and seeing about Pablo. He made a couple of nice defensive plays yesterday.

Today I learned that Devers is a big boy.

 

I also learned why some say he is pretty good defensively. Nice footwork on a backhand three feet inside the line followed by a strong throw to first.

 

I have seen nothing so far that tells me that Sam Travis will not hit in MLB ball. Nothing.

Craig also hit a HR. On a prior Red Sox broadcast, they were talking about how he is driving the ball again. I had assumed the organization was trying to pump up his value to generate some trade interest, but after watching a few games, I have to agree. He looks like a different guy from what we have seen over the last 2 seasons.

I tell you, for 2 years he was a dangerous hitter. But he couldn't crack the lineup. Because Tony Larussa gave the LF job to Dave Duncan's son. When he finally got the job he batted over .400 with RISP those next 2 yrs.

 

I'd been thinking for a while that he might be a juicer. Would explain a lot. Anyway, I hope the guy busts out this spring.

Spud, I believe 90% of the players are on something until they get the BIG contract...I know that I would be! Fame and riches trumps all; even long term health issues.
