It will hopefully still be a good offense, it just looks really strange.

Strange and anemic.

But Farrell is doing his job trying to rest and preserve players who are everyday guys.

Can't fault him for that.

That's low and the league need to tell those scumbags to f*** off with such dick move.

You mean Dave Dombrowski who started it? Thursday day games are popular in Detroit and thousands of fans bought tickets and made arrangements for this game. There is also a Lions game at 7:30. The baseball universe doesn't revolve around the Red Sox. This wasn't some move to punish Dombrowski or the Red Sox. Whether it was the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th game of the series, it would have been played during the day and Dombrowski knows this. Did Dombrowski ask Baltimore to move their game to the day time?

Even the Tigers itself refuses to play Thursday day home games if they play a road night game before. So they definitely come off bad here. Whether it start by Dombrowski is not important. But the Tigers itself won't play Thursday day games if they are not at home the previous night, the visiting club has rights to voice their displeasure.

They have the right to voice their displeasure but the home team has the right to select the start times. This happens to the Tigers too. Cleveland is notorious for doing these things. Tigers have been doing this for years and the first ones to complain the loudest are the Red Sox and the man who started it.

I agree that it's a low move. As I said, if they won't do it to themselves, the optics are not good that they would put another team through it.

ESPN might have had something to say about that.

No they wouldn't. The midweek games are not the same as the Sunday night ones. They would have just carried a different game.

Both Leon and Holiday are in the lineup today. Farrell is throwing out the book.

if holiday gets injured leon simply steps out of DH and into catcher role. not really throwing out the book.....

With Leon DH'ing and Holiday catching, there is less of possibility of Holliday getting PH for than the other day. If he PH's for Holiday, he will not only have no backup catcher on the bench, but he will also use the DH and the pitcher will have to bat if Holiday's spot comes around again.

Then the team loses the DH and the pitcher would bat.
Book has been trashed.

It also has something to do with the Lions having an evening game tonight in Detroit.

"Dombrowski said Lions game wasn't a factor in refusal to reschedule, since Lions schedule wasn't out when they asked about changing times."
