Looking good.........

the rarely mentioned Sox organizations Which Doctor came through big this game with the perfectly timed rain dance................. and then game cancellation.......

Looks like this team is ready to take anyone on.......................

ESPN just showed a shot of the field; left looks like it has a couple of inches of water on it from the tarp to the wall and right looks like it may be headed in that direction.

Yeah its really bad here. I'm glad they just called the game. We checked forecast and rain wasn't supposed to stop till around 1 AM (its still pouring at the moment and street are flooding, I had to leave the stadium before it got too bad, noway I couldn imagine as a fan (or player) waiting for AT LEAST 3 hours for the rain delay to stop.

All in all though, very good start by Price in a big game, and the offense really showed up, especially JBJ

Loved that Mookie got MVP chants throughout the game in Baltimore, it felt like it was 60/40 Sox fans today, which was awesome.

ESPN said Buchholz was flying ahead to Detroit but his flight was cancelled so he's back at Camden Yards.

NESN said Buchholz never left Cleveland.

Talksox today:

Price was pretty good last night!

Nope. He only went 6 innings. He should be going 8+ every night.

I agree, Price needs to get it done, no matter what. This is why we got him.

It's time for him to be the ace that we all thought we were getting. I'll settle for nothing less.

Get it done and WIN!!!

Price got it done!

If he can get on a consistent roll, along with the rest of the rotation, this will be a fun stretch run!

also - great start by Price. exactly what we needed. BP is nice and rested for day game clay game start today.

this W streak is getting pretty fun!!!

leaving them as is seemed to work quite well in this game. stupid Farrell

Would have had more runs if Sandy was in front of JBJ.

Yup, between Price and the rain delay, the Sox were able to keep the bullpen IN the bullpen.

Hopefully, everyone got enough rest for today's game.

Were you thinking we'd need more than 8 runs because Price was pitching? LOL

i dont think we need to get into different pitch selections or what happens when a butterfly flaps it's wings in china......

what we do know is that leaving them be in this game resulted in each one going yard. that i will take. everytime.

Yup, if there's anyone that could use a change in lineup position, it might be Xander.

He's really had a rough time this month.

I was just stating that the optimal lineup last night would have had Sandy in front of Jackie. I'm not surprised you couldn't figure that out though. Reading is hard sometimes.

I said I would have had Sandy hit earlier in the lineup. You called me out for it for some reason even though Sandy had a great game. If Sandy went 0-3, you might have had a point. Unfortunately, you didn't.

Touchy, touchy... ,lol

Like a few others here, you can dish it but can't take it.

I think the problem nowadays is that people ignore the human element to the game and try to quantify every decision numerically. Sometimes a peak lineup may not be evident simply by number crunching.

I hope it either holds off or starts to rain like a cow pissin' on a flat rock so they call it immediately. One or the other.

Outstanding phrase. Never heard it before.

In a pre-game interview Farrell said Clay was sent on ahead to Detroit. Now, it seems that he never made it and is back traveling with the team.

Oye.

I worry about the condensed timing of this all. Can anyone here sleep on an airplane? I took two Thorazine pills on my way to Germany once and still could not sleep.

I wonder if the team gets any sleep while in the air.

Take what? If you had a point, I'd agree with it. I can take whatever anyone says about this place because I don't take it seriously.

This really doesn't go against my original assertion.

the point of the butterfly was...how do you know that sandy would still have had a "great game" if he was moved up another spot in the order? maybe he grounds out 4 times. how do you know that JBj would still have hit his HR if he was moved down in the order? maybe he would have been pitched differently and drilled in the earhole his first ab to never play ball again......

what we do know is that putting them in the exact way that JF did resulted in each of them hitting a HR with runners on base.

Clay was going to fly out early, but he was grounded due to the storm, and ended up flying with the rest of the team. The last thing we need is a tired Buchholz. He's bad enough when he's wide awake.
