This is Papi's last year and a lot of pitching went today. Farrell's firing would have nothing to do with VP's lack of a major trade. Until last night team seemed completely listless.

DD in fact did make a major trade with San Diego for a starter. So far, he sucks. But he did pull the trigger. He also went out and got another good RH bat that can play 2nd and 3rd. He got a very good back end BP piece and a decent lefty specialist.

 

He addressed the needs of the team quite well, I think.

 

The team has been playing like s*** recently. But not because DD did nothing to make them better.

I agree with everything being said but I would've mortgaged the future to see Big Papi go out a winner. DD sucks as does Farrell. Any man that cheats on his wife loses much respect from other men.

There's no reason to mortgage the future. Chris Sale would not have improved the teams chances enough to warrant giving away two soon-to-be stars ++. Don't overvalue pitching like many do. I'm glad they stayed put.
