People keep talking about this road trip... but the competition isn't that great. The Angels are bad. The Mariners aren't anything special. The Dodgers rotation is down Kershaw and Ryu.

As unfortunate as this game has been in some ways, it sure is exciting baseball.

The competition might not be that great, but road trips are always tough, especially those to the west coast. That said, it is encouraging that we are not facing any of these teams at their best.

Yeah, that had to be tough on him, going in with an 8-0 lead. Obviously, he was just trying to get it down to something more comfortable, where he would have that focus. Can't understand why Farrell took him out once he got there.

really happy to see HanRam breakout. i have been pulling for him hard this season. he put in the work to make himself a more than adequate first basemen. now it would be nice to see that bat heat up and have a devastating 4-5 combo.....

Couldn't have scripted the HR any better. And to Hanley's credit, he ran the bases and didn't say a word to the pitcher.

 

Hopefully, the Sox winning takes some of the sting off for Pomeranz. We do not need him getting any doubts into his head.

I think it helped that the homer was the type of hit it was (liner that was not guaranteed to go out); it made Hanley have bust it out of the box right away. There may have been a staredown had it been a moonshot.

That is possibly true. I still think he showed maturity in that whole ordeal.
